jason allen pick

considering the amount of easy drops ive seen by our secondary this yr i'd say good play...it was an overthrown pass right to him but it was a good catch

regardless of the pick he play good coverage. I saw him break up a good pass.

he had to jump up pretty high and tipped it to himself... but he was just in the right position to make a play, even if the pass was on target he woulda been there immediately for a big hit...

but like most INTs in the NFL it came off of a bad throw, but he played well this game when he was in there...

so is he looking like a future starter
yeah he is for sure, it takes time to progress in this league but he is surely making great strides.

For me, the most encouraging thing about yesterday was the emergence of Y.Bell and signs that J.Allen is coming to life. Hopefully, they will be our future at Safety for years to come.

Thanks Rick S for the Y.Bell pick.

You have to put yourself in that position in the zone coverage to make that play...so he gets credit for putting himself in the right lane on the zone coverage.

Also, he had to jump 3 feet in the air and still only tipped the thing and had to concentrate hard to pull it down after the tip.

If you don't have a 6'1" guy with a 40 inch vertical, that play doesn't happen. If you don't have a guy with ball skills, that play doesn't happen. If you don't have a guy with quick reactions on the jump (timing) that play doesn't happen. If you don't have a guy who knows where to be and what lane to get into, that play doesn't happen. If you don't have a guy who is so fast that he can get into his passing lanes and still have time to turn around and read the QB's eyes, that play doesn't happen.

please give some credit to Renaldo Hill on that play. He was the one that pressured Grossman into that bad pass. Hill played a great game yesterday.

It was the first really good play he's made, I'm happy for him, and I hope he continues to progress. The thing that bothered me the most about Allen was his hold-out this off-season, and not being able to get up to speed in time to play sooner....

He still needs work, but it was a good play none the less. Let's just hope he can turn out to be the playmaker we desperately need in the secondary. I want to see more before passing final judgement on him....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Exactly!!! People are still trying to say that he's a bust, that he got lucky, etc...the simple fact of the matter is he was in the right place to make the play. Period. Can't be argued. With his physical skills, instincts, and now book-learning/experience he's proving himself to be a greater asset with every game that passes. There will be some people who say "one game wonder", but they should rightfully be ignored. Indeed, for all of the Troy Polamalu comparisions that have been made, not even Troy had an interception his rookie season. Allen is still learning, still growing into his role, and he's going to drive offenses nuts for years to come.

Jason Allen 1st Career INT Avatar :)

It was a lucky pick, on a pass thrown several feet over the head of the receiver.

That being said, it is the first "lucky interception" all season. We should have more. Jason Allen also had 2 passes defended.

Yesterday, Allen had 2 passes defended and 1 interception.
********
Hill had his best game of the year, with 1 pass defended, and 1 interception. Hill is now tied with Jason Allen on the season, with 2 passes defended and 1 interception.

The First 6 weeks of the year, Hill was useless. The last 2 weeks he has played ok. It's unclear how much longer it will take Jason Allen to take his place. I would have started Allen Game 1, if I were coach.

n1 JD!

like the avatar, too. I met Jokinen on a plane from NY to Miami. He's a not only a great hockey player but also a nice guy.
