I in new england and local talk show are talking how they missed out on the guy belichek targeted.. And saying he should have traded up... And that player would our JASON ALLEN!!!! Its a beautiful thing love listening to them crying go DOLPHINS....

ALLEN was a top 10 pick before his hip injury. It looks like Allen has completely recovered if you saw him run at the combine.

If he stays injury free from his hip, we just got ourselves a great football player. He was actually one of the few that was problem free at Tennessee if I remember right. Brings versatility that few can, and will probably play FS for us next season.

I am pumped to get him. But hearing this makes my week!!! stupid pats

Medical status

I think no player is picked without thorough checks, especially in the first round. Some things you just can't predict. I'm confidet his hip will be fine.

I am excited about this pick. Hard-hitting d-backs with speed are great to watch! Fumbles... Dropped passes... :tantrum:

Patriots have good scouts, so if they rated him high, it's another proof that he was the right choice.

Does anyone know what number he'll wear?

I think someone posted that Allen will be wearing #32. Atleast during the Rookie Mini-Camp.

yeah i trust sabans judgement with that pick, and hearing this makes me like it even more...

Thats what it says on the official site.

Allen is a bigger DB than were used to seeing. He's something like 6'2 215 and he's going to lay the lumber on the WR that cross his side of the field.

Now, now, it's not quite fair to say that out of 85+ UT players he was "one of the few that was problem free". Quite an over-generalization.

As to Allen, as long as he stays healthy, he'll be an anchor in the backfield for the Dolphins. He has great speed, skills, and loves to study tape to make himself better. The one thing that he won't bring are tons of bone-crushing hits - he is a solid tackler who rarely misses his target, but he's not a head-hunter going for the KO shot. He just brings them down with solid form when he reaches them.
