How did he do other night?...I am really pissed we passed on cromartie for this guy...I hope he can turn things around

Don't worry dude we got the right guy. Saban knows and trusts his instincts when he drafts. I'm thinking that its just going to take time. However, I missed the game myself...I know that doesn't help out much but if you wanna know they're going to re-air it again on Sun 4pm east on NFL Network.

alrite thanx...im hopin saban made the rite choice:wink:

he has all the tools to be a great Saftey and he is trying hard out there.
Last night he never left the bench and spent the whole time speaking with Coaches he looks like he is focused and trying very hard to learn the system. Lets hope that he can start at some point this season
but atleast he is giving it all and trying hard to learn the D and he has been playin better each game so who knows give the guy some time not everyone is named Ed Reed haha

So, he didnt get any playing time last night?

he did play, almost a pick when the pass was tipped by the receiver, but he slipped in the dirt

I never normally question Saban, but I think that he should have just let him focus on learninig to play at S. I think that along with his holdout, stunted his growth a little. I'm sure he'll be a good player for us, but it might just take a little time. By the season's end he'll be the starter and an impact player for sure.

He'll be ready when we need him most, for the second half of the season AND the playoffs.

another reason to hate that damn infield! i hope daunte's knee holds up on it. i think it will.

The guys on the radio said that Allen's extensive action last night will be the last we see him for a while. No chance he plays against Pittsburgh but they may start to work him in slowly with the creampuffs we have over the following weeks.

Remember guys, and how many times will we have to repeat this:

Even the best Safties in the NFL had uneventful rookie years.
Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed, Mike Doss, etc...

Safety is the HARDEST position on Defense to learn well...
Have patience: He will be awesome for many years.

Yea he did play
but when he wasnt he was super focused on the sidelines talking with coaches ext..
and he didnt slip he dove to catch the ball for the INT he tried give the guy some credit here

seems like a bust right now. daniels was a 4th rounder last year stepped right in at cb. safety position may be harder than CB to learn but...

What game were you watching?

What game did you watch? He was on the field almost the entire night. The announcers even commented on his extensive playing time. Saban had him on the field the whole game, no doubt trying to give him extra playing time experience. He played pretty well, too IMHO. Saban said he feels badly he put Jason at Corner, feels it overwhelmed him, but Jason said he thought it was good for him to learn the position.

seems like a bust right now. daniels was a 4th rounder last year stepped right in at cb. safety position may be harder than CB to learn but it was a position of real need and it's not like the guys ahead if him are all-pros. Jury's out.
