Do you guy think Jason Allen will have a break out year this year or ever become a major factor for us and be a big name in the NFL?

Right now it's not looking all that promising, but I wouldn't go jumping overboard because of a few bad mini-camps either. His progress, or perhaps lack of one, will be an issue to watch this training camp and pre-season.

i dont know if jason will have a good year but i do think Bell is going to have a break out year

I'm thinking it is going to take all of this year just to build up Jason's confidence and next year we will see him begin to blossom into a great NFL player.

I think he would be a better safety and that his chances of becoming labeled a bust will dramatically increase with the switch to CB. But, I was never thrilled with picking him in the first place as I did not think he would succeed in the NFL.

I also feet he was better suited as a safety, and wish he will be given the chance to start in the FS spot with a full training camp under his belt.

I'm not expecting anything from him. He looked completely lost last year, he looked bad in mini-camps and as of now doesn't have a starting spot. Hard to have a break-out season when you're on the bench.

I don't know, maybe... But if we have any chance at all of making the playoffs, he certainly could help us out a lot... Cause IMO, our 2 biggest ?? on this team are secondary and offensive line, so we need some young guys to step up, guys like Jason Allen, Joe Toledo, Drew Mormino, Samson Satele, Travis Daniels, etc.. Man I miss Patrick Surtain!!

Talent rises, if he can play Safety at his age he should be able to play CB at least somewhat, if 4.4 speed doesn't work at CB, then he may be packing.

My "gut" says that he can play, but we shall see...

He's a bust because I say so and I know more than any of you!

who here still cries sometimes about us not taking manny lawson ,, now thats a player with bright future

Why? JA has had one season with us, he didn't play very much in our very complicated defensive scheme, and now it's time to cry in our milk over a player we don't even have?

At the very least give him a chance to fail out on the field.

Honestly, if Allen was probably going to succeed at CB he would have to lose some weight. Last year he was listed at 209, I reckon if he dropped 7-8 pounds he would become more agile and maybe increase his chances. 209 is decent for a safety, but a bit heavy for a CB IMO.
