ok ok ok.. i have had just about enough of this <3 fest for jason allen.. everyone on here seems to think he is a pro bowl type player.. when i have watched every game since he was drafted and i see very few plays that even make me think he should get a roster spot.. after his rookie year witch was sooooo bad. All i remember now is the last game him having a free shot on p manning and just letting up on him.. :sidelol: and since than the best plays from him and catching players that get behind him.. someone please point out the good games that he has under his belt.. and no stats.. good games...
 
Easy, the Philadelphia game.

How many games has he started this past year, when [which week?] did he start, and how many seasons does he have under his belt?

Way too early to judge him.

But see if you are taking away stats, then you have to take away many, and I mean many of Thomas's games. Do you need me to point out his good games?

His first season was not at all his fault. Just like Porter last season, the first half. When you are not playing to a players strengths and making him do something he isn't, then how can u expect him to succeed ala expecting Roonnie Brown to make a 2 point conversion pass when he has never even attempted a pass in an organized game in his life.

His rookie season is and should be a wash, as the team developed him horribly and didn't know how to play him.

Last year the 2nd half of the season he played very solid. Was he a pro Bowler? Nah, I don't think so but he played very solid and there is definitely potential there.

To deny that you obviously have an agenda.
 
about the last 6 games of last season he played decent or above average games... sure he had only 3 inos... 2 against the eagles... mcnabb is a good qb... but it takess time to build up and master the safety position especially if your 3 years in the leauge u have bounced back from safety to corner bak like a h*e tryna make sum money
 
ok i did watch the philly game.. and i would agree that was his best game.. not just cause the int's but he played well.. and i pretty much give him a pass his rookie year too like i said the only memory i keep from that is his letting manning run in the endzone and pretty much just watching him do so.. and the only reason i said no stats is because i see him making tackles but they are all from catching people.. and trust me i have no agenda when we drafted him ( way to early) i had high hopes.. and i know it takes time to be a saftey but after the safety play we have been getting it wouldnt take much to impress me..

This is a make or break year for alot of dolphins. We just need to pin our ears back and see who has what it takes to play under pressure at a high level.. Does J Allen have what it takes to be the safety Saban*and co envisioned in him to be? we will just have to find out in 08
 
I don't think a lot of people think he's a pro bowl type player (yet) but rather an upcoming starter in this league.
 
Let face it he was the almost the last man standing healthy at the safty position which is what got him his chance. On top of that he was playing on a pretty bad team which really makes it hard to determine how good he really played. What I saw was a pretty physical talented player on the field who appeared to make a few mental mistakes but played fairly well when given the chance. I am assuming with all the safty injuries last year that they probably simplified the position responsibilities by the end of the year which played to Allens strenghts which is just playing the game and having to think about it. That was the MO on Allen all the time he is physically talented enough it was the thinking that was killing him. I beleive when everyone is given the same mental responsibilty at the safty position this year Allen will appear to struggle "unless" the Dolphins brass decides to take that portion away from that position to help get Allen on the field.

WOW, what a generalization:err:
I have not been a fan of his from day 1 and even though he has shown some improvement(which isn't saying much)I still doubt he will become the first round talent
that many*(I repeat...MANY)have hoped for.

No doubt he is an amazing athlete with speed galore but he has to translate this into being a football player and let those natural instincts take over.Does he have potential to be a good one...Yes he does

Will he become that special player that we need?

Only time will tell but lets all hope he does!!
 
I think he is garbage, and if he was worth a crap or the rather high pick we spent on him he would have gotten on the field alot more then he did over the past 2 season. And when he actually did make it on the field he sure didnt impress.
 
I think that safeties are much harder to judge because they don't have alot of stats to make them super exciting they seem today to be only Massive hitters or coverage guys Jason can be a good balance of the two i believe he can be good in run support and i think he can really improve and be a good coverage guy. You have to remember that he has been in multiple systems and hasnt been given a chance to succeed so lets see what he can do.

some people on her amaze me.
1) this guy was at the bottom of Depth chart rookie year.He move up because of injury but played better then any of our starter when we got on the field. The fisrt was his worse but that's expecteed. He cam in foruth in tackles, 1st in INTERCEPTION,. THis is guy wiill be playmaker on D.
 
wow so im making stuff up... just look at plenty of threds on here where so many people call him a playmaker.. and how he was pro bowl skills. and he was the bright spot last year.. trust me i dont make stuff up like this.. i really dont have to.. my first post would not be about something i just wanna make up.. i just see everyone ridin his jock a lil to hard.
