i don't know how to put the link with this but in the article about the phins releasing mcintosh, he says we are only 9m over the projected cap of 92-95 m...i think that includes mcintosh being released which saved 3.8m against the cap...he says cutting tebucky jones will save 6.5m...so i'm sure he will get released soon...so we are not 21m over like espn says...

I wonder if he is counting the nearly 10 million that gets bumped up from last years "winning season" incentives? Also, all incentives for future years will now have to be counted on this years cap. i.e., If Wes Welker has a contract that says he gets a $10 million bonus for throwing a TD pass to himself in 2007, it will count against this years cap.

no it says it in the article but i don't know how to link it...i would think that he would know better than espn since he covers the team...

Well if that's the case, Wes better make sure he pulls a Frerotte and overthrows the receiver! Otherwise he should be cut

According to Clumpy's analysis, Clayton is using the hard figure but he (Clumpy) uses the adjusted # which is 10 million less due to NLBTEs.

up, down....left,right....black,white.....agreement, no agreement....21 over, 9 over....Brees, Culpepper....Yes, no....

That was my first thought too. I would tend to trust ESPN's cap info more than Cole's.

Which is fine unless there is no CBA. If there is no agreement on a CBA from what I understand, all those "not likely to be earned incentives" are counted against the cap. This is the worst case scenario, and lots of teams will be blowing veterans out the door, including Miami. Then the Arizonas of the world are signing vets for pennies on the dollar since they are under the cap now. I'm sure CK or Boomer have a better grasp on this than I do...

What's funny is the the home page of this site says we saved over 4.4 million by cutting McIntosh. Seems like no one knows what's straight.
