If it really is true, according to the Rotoworld feed, that Parcells won't settle for less than a first round pick then it's obvious we're not trading him. I'd obviously rather have a player, two years removed from defensive player of the year, playing for this team than retiring and leaving us with a leader like Joey Porter. With him at OLB, our front line looks dominant. Without him, it really doesn't stand out. He's a quality player and it seems that many people are overlooking what he's done for us for the past decade and just wanting to trade him away for people like ¿¿¿¿Vincent Jackson???? I think that we would be most fortunate at this point if he just came back and played. Please Jason Taylor, COME HOME!

I really do get tired of all the Jason Taylor worship. Guys face it, he doesnt want to play here anymore. Let it go and focus on the guys who do want to be Miami Dolphins. I understand it and its ok by me. I would have had a lot more respect for the guy if he had come right out and said that he wanted to move on instead of all this behind the scenes stuff the whole offseason.

I know that expressing that will bring out the flame throwers but so be it. I would rather spend my time supporting the guys that are here working to make this team better than begging someone to come back that doesnt want to be here.

Parcells is a dummy if he's expecting a first for JT at this point. His hand has been forced. JT has zero value to this team at this point and, I'd not be surprised if he retired abruptly. Take what you can get, trade JT and, lets be done with it.

What I don't understand is why hasn't Jason Tayolor commented on the Tony Sparano statement. If he did want to pull a Michael Strahan he would have come out and said, I don't think I need training camp but will be ready to play "FOR THE DOLPHINS" come August. I feel since there hasn't been a rebuttle it must be true he doesn't want to play for us, so just pull a Jim Brown retire and none of us will have to worry about this fiasco anymore.

I think that is basically the point.

Unless we get a 1st for Taylor, Taylor either plays for the Phins or retires. Parcells hand hasn't been forced. He could probably care less. He might settle for a 2nd. If anyones hand has been forced it was Taylor's when Sparano had his conference the other day.

The sad thing is that Taylor was great for this franchise, however, every day that passes he is tarnishing his legacy here in Miami without coming back.

Everyday 1 or 2 more Taylor supporters jump ship and start saying he is in the wrong or they are now annoyed.

Atleast with parcells you knew he was this was when we got him, no surprises here.

I do agree with you on that. I'm not trying to glorify Jason Taylor in this. I guess I'm partially in denial and I just want things to stay the same and him to keep playing football with us, the way he has been. Believe me, I would settle for even a fourth at this point because it's obviously much better than just losing him all together.

With respect, I think you're wrong. If JT retires, we got nothing for him, but, we still lose his services. I don't get what the downside is to settleing for a 2nd for him and, letting him go about his way.

I agree that JT is tarnishing his legacy, but, at the same time, I think it's juvenile to look at a guy that's played here for 11 years and is looking at the future so as not to wind up like Earl Campbell like he's a pariah.

If we turn on JT so abruptly (and, if ZT would've wound up in the AFC East, we'd've turned on him too) Then, how can we really root for a player, or a franchise? I've had heros on the Dolphins before the modern era..(Jenson, Czonka, Morris, Stephenson, The Blackwoods), but I can't imagine ever disparaging them like what happens to great players here.

I agree that I would take what i could get for him as well. I just don't think Parcells thinks that way.

I don't care if Taylor wants to retire, be traded, dance or play for a winner. I just thought it was pathetic how handled the whole thing and has been lying to the fans.

Thomas went out very respectfully. I didn't much care for Thomas personally, but after seeing how he left and what he said I have grown a great amount of respect for that man and seriously hopes he gets that ring.

U r correct though. Miami has some very fickle, day to day fans though. My opinion on Taylor has been the same for about 5 or 6 years now.

Right, thats why he is where he is, because he's a dummy.......not.

Do you judge an entire football game by the result of the 1st quarter? Until this thing plays all the way out no one can say he is playing this wrong at all.

The only leverage Parcells has is what he is currently using, in negotiation you always start out high, ie.....if his real bottomline is a 2nd rounder, of course he is going to ask for a 1st. As it is no one has come close to even that, so he must hold firm to his resolve or show weakness and a will to get fleeced.

That, I agree with. He should've just said it outright. That was wrong of him to do.

*Rubs bridge of nose*....I did not mean to imply Parcells is a dummy. Clearly he's not. Parcells IS, however, arrogant and willfull. He wound up on the outs for the way he handled TO in Dallas, and, he's going about this the same way. Granted, he'll get more leash here, because we're desperate.

We won't get a 2nd for JT...It just won't happen. If it does, I'll eat crow. I don't see what the value is in creating drama on a rebuilding franchise. Clear out the old, bring in the new. Not hard. Now he's purpously agitating for no clear gain...

*Well...I can't say no clear gain...There's all sorts of new nicknames for one of the best players in Dolphin history implying he's gay...So there's that.*

Relax, you'll live longer!

Whatever happens with JT will unfold over a period of weeks or months.

Quite frankly BP has it EXACTLY right. A team can and will pay a heavy price for a premier player with years left in his tank (potentially 4 or 5 years or more left) or he can retire.

If he plays for the Dolphins we will all enjoy watching him tear it up. If a team is smart they will part with a first for him. If not he can enjoy the memories of having once played in the NFL! That's all!!!

I like what Bill is doing 1st round draft pick or nothing!!!! Because if you think about it a day 2 draft pick might equal out to nothing. then you just gave away a defensive MVP for peanuts, not to say a day 1 draft pick is a given, but you have a better chance of getting a good player.

If the real reason why Jason Taylor is not in camp is because hes fed up with our losing ways and does'nt like the fact that we are rebuilding then i say f##k Jason Taylor plain and simple. dont wanna help our team that pays you your salary then c ya.

Now that being said, if he really wanted to go to another team why would he go on national TV and profess his love and passion for life after football...dumb move on his part if what we here is true.

i have a suspicion that we dont know the whole truth.

he isn't going to waste his time for a team that might win 4 games *with* him..
he has other opportunities to make the money he'll lose.. he isn't coming back with this team, deal with it...
