Fox was interviewed on the Big O Show yesterday. Then he was interviewed on the Joe Rose Show this morning. Also, Drew Rosenhaus was on with Joe Rose this morning. Here is a cumulative recap:

1. Rosenhaus pointed out that Detroit let Gosder Cherilus go before the 2013 season because they were comfortable with Fox at right tackle. Cherilus was highly rated and played well so the fact that Detroit let Cherilus go speaks well of Fox. The subsequent injuries were obviously unforeseen.
2. Rosenhaus pointed out that Fox met with KC and that he could have signed with KC. Fox was impressed with Philbin, Benton, and the Miami situation and held off on signing in KC to wait on his Miami meeting. Fox thinks he has a great opportunity in Miami. Lots of positions open for competition.
3. Fox says he feels 100% healthy and thinks he has just had bad luck.
4. Fox has his eyes set on the right tackle position, but nothing has been promised. He is ready to compete.
5. He thinks he is fully capable of kicking inside to guard. He has worked at guard in practice in Detroit and in college at the U.
6. Fox is comfortable on the left or right side. His NFL experience is on the right side but his college experience at the U was primarily on the left side.
7. The Miami staff emphasized that they want to win the right way and that character is important.
8. In Detroit they ran a mix of plays, both power and also some back zone plays.
9. In Miami, Lazor, Benton, and Philbin indicated they will run zone blocking, but that Miami will mix in other plays to keep the defense guessing.
10. Originally from Texas, loves Miami. Happy to get back after being in Detroit. Excited about weather. Knows Lamar Miller and Olivier Vernon and a few others "vaguely."

Thanks for the highlights.

Looks like Fox wanted to go to a team that would allow him to compete and prove himself.

Guy is only 26 and has plenty of football let in the tank. Clearly, he is in search of that big contract and is willing to work for it.

I like the fact he basically said he will play any position, at anytime. Sounds like a Garner 2.0 but hopefully he can shine at RT if thats the plan.

Toss in that he went to THE U....... I approve of this message. :clapping:

Rosnhaus is so full of it.
Detroit let Cherilus walk over money, that's like saying Miami let Jake Long go because it was confident that Martin would handle the position.
Good attitude I just think its a waste of a roster spot to have a guy who has not stayed healthy for 4 season. When its 4 seasons its no longer just bad luck, your friggin fragile and injure prone.
Now many will say he is worth a shot but do u really want to have a guy on the roster then three games into the season have to replace him with a guy that is even more of a fringe player or be forced to trade for another washed up player.

:bobdole:

1 year deal. Lets see if he even makes the 53........

my point is if he makes the 53 he is more likely to hurt us then help us because odds are quite in favor of him being injured again at some point.
The u are reaching for even more bottom of the barrel players at that point of season. He cant stay healthy as a backup, what makes anyone think he can as a starter or backup for us.
He has played in 12 games in 4 years, he has started like 3 games. He has been injured more than he has been healthy. So give me whatever smiley u want but please explain how my point is somehow a failure.
Of course though Im just being negative because I point out a player that has been in the league for 4 years and has been healthy for like 3 games a year is not worth having on our roster.

I agree, I am starting to get concerned with the number of 1 yr prove it to me contracts we seem to have this yr, all at positions where we are thin....if it works Hickey is a genius if it doesn't we are worst than last yr and starting from scratch again next yr......I guess the positive would be for the incoming new HC, he won't be saddled with bad contracts with players with injury issues....

Fox is clearly being brought in as a long shot player. Evident in the contract he got.

Fox making the squad is already a long shot and him starting at RT even longer.

Bashing the team for giving a injury prone RT a camp roster spot is a bit baffling, personally.

Pure depth move that gets alot of hype in Miami because the guy played at Miami.

We signed a bunch of scrub WR's to camp deals and no one seems to complain about that. Fox gets a camp deal that is backed with some 'hope' and people flip.

If we enter camp with Fox as our primary RT I will be on your side. But from the rumors we are going after Z. Martin at RT leading me to believe Fox is nothing but a bench player at this point and thats even if he makes the team!

We already have Garner, Brenner, and D. Thomas at depth. Fox is far from a guarantee to the 53.

No one is bashing the team Im bashing the move as a waste of time and possibly a detriment once the season begins. If we have him on roster 90 percent chance he gets injured then we have a lesser player as depth.
Not even sure where the hope comes from he has done nothing at the NFL level and people act like he has been a good player. As for scrub Wr's big deal you have 4 solid receivers so your 5th guys is not a big deal to take a chance on.
We have no depth on Oline so yes its a concern

Dang, whats all the crying aboutr? We cant sign top 10 players at every position all the time. These kind of signings are needed in the NFL.

No crying we just need linemen not patients

Not crying, just saying this signing is nothing to get excited about....we still have a lot of work to do on the OL, don't let this signing be a distraction.....

We are not getting any great linemen right now anyway. We have to wait until the draft. Its always good to have depth with potential to start.

Agree, but depth is important and he does have the ability to start.

Some good line guys are still free agents i mean wade Smith, ryan harris, eric winston and Donald Penn. McKinney would be good depth too

He started 3 games in 4 years, does ability to start mean much. We had 4 starters last year with ability to start that were not that good. Fox in reality is not that good.
Hell by that definition Brenner has ability to start, as did Jerry, as does Garner. He also had the ability to not start for quite a few games last year on not that good of a line.
Who the hell says great linemen, I would settle for solid at this point and nothing in Fox's career has been solid except getting injured

Negative on donald penn raiders jumped on him
