If the Cowboys fire Garret, and we miss out on Coughlin or Mora, would you like him to be the next coach of the Miami Dolphins?
Just pure speculation, but what do you guys think?

Is there a HC who has done less with more? No thanks.

That is what I was thinking as well. He might look like the splashy hire when all the front runner are gone.
With Ross, the superficial over substance is the rule.
The Jets / Dallas connection has been our well spring since the Parcels hiring.
Garret to Miami is frightening, but it would not surprise me (if he is fired).

Of course, it would be typical for the Fins to be the first team to fire their HC and yet ending up having to sort through the dregs like him after the high potential prospects hitch their wagons to demonstratively better front czars and owners. Ironic :idk:

Miss out on Coughlin? Why would we even want him in the first place. Anyways pass on Garrett.

I think Jerry indicated that Garrett was safe.

But if not.....then no, I don't care for Garrett as a coach

He is the best coach available if he is fired. Look at the others objectively.
The thing about Coughlin is the staff that he will bring. I truly believe that the staff of the Miami Dolphins is one of the worst in the NFL.
Some will not like him because he is old. Old guys are pretty sharp. He doesnt have to kiss the players asses to get them to perform.
The young guys, and lesser experienced guys fade under adversity in most cases. Wash - rinse-repeat.
Look at Coughlins record against Belichick. He is his nemesis.

Sorry to derail my own thread..lol

Concur. A buddy at work (Cowboys fan) was cursing the fact that JG could not win 1 game (in 7) when Tony got injured. That said, part of that malfunction is on the GM for being derelict in his duties.

He seems spineless to me. The video where Dez is going off in the locker room. He walks in, briefly peeks his head in, and walks out. Hardly what this joke of a locker room and culture in Miami needs imo.....

He's also not a big splash hire so IMO Ross wouldn't even consider it.

Frankly, Coughlin is exactly what this team needs. Aside from his age, he is the type of coach that can bring stability and credibility to the organization that it desperately lacks currently.

It will not happen though. Coughlin is 69 I believe and likely will not coach more than another couple of year if an opportunity comes up.

There was a reason that Garrett was stripped of his placalling duties 2 years ago. He is not the reason why the Cowboys had a good year last yer. Scott Linehan and Rod Marinelli were hired and turned the team around. No thanks.

Powder puff. Just a younger Joe Philbin. No way.
