......but as soon as they left, the Dolphins became one. Any coincidence?

You decide.

I think it's just a coincidence. They were both fairly good players.

We're really benefitting from great coaching this season.

i dont think its so much that but more of personnel. for one, ZT became a weak link, sure he was great but he was up in age and TE ALWAAAAAAAAAAYS burned us b/c ZT coudlnt cover and also keep in mind he wasnt the right size for 3-4 especially when he blitzed. He was getting jacked up the way welker got jacked up the last 2 weeks.

also, i think JT was becoming a cancer in the locker room to be honest. It was ALWAYS drama surrounding him towards the end. Ppl are going to get upset but but oh well deal with it.

Well I don't think Thomas would have fit well in the scheme we have now.

Taylor was decent, but Porter has more or less taken his spot and has done well with it.

I miss the both of them , but it was time to move on. The nastyness in the end with J.T Ill forgive because the nfl is still a business. We all know hell play a few more years then we can put his name up on the ring of honor with zacks.

Well J.T. wanted to go to a contender when he was already on one. He just didn't see the burried treasure that lie underneath. That's the way life is sometimes in that what most people want is right often right under their nose.

Zach didn't have a choice... He was cut. The very moment he retires, there will be plans to get him up in the Honor Ring.

JT will always be one of the all-time great Dolphins and brought us a lot of memories. I wish he could have played his entire career with the Fins. The stuff at the end was getting kind of old though and it was probably best for him to move on. The best we can do is hope for the Skins to tank even more so that the #2 is a better pick.
You can't blame a guy for wanting to win, but I think it's ironic (and kind of funny) that he's now on a team with a worse record and only has one sack. You know he's kicking himself everyday for pushing this trade.

would have been nice to see both JT, JP terrorizing qb's this year, but it is what it is... JT became to prima dona like and he to go, now we'll have a mid 2nd round pick for him and hopfully it'll turn out to be some pro bowl player down the line to help the fins win the super bowl.

Off topic, but do you guys think madison and surtain retire as dolphins they have been with the cheifs and giants for quite a while especially madison getting a superbowl with NY?

Ironically if these two stay Pennington wouldnt have have been able to come in and instantly become the ultimate leader of the team. As much as Chads play has helped this team, his leadership has helped more. With those two older established locker room leaders still here, it would have changed everything.

Zach is playing just as good as Akin is this season, but Akin is younger. He is no longer an elite MLB, but still a good football player. Honestly though, I think if Zach would have been here we would have beat Houston, he would not have been out of position to stop Matt Schaub on that TD run.
We traded JT at the right time and got a high draft pick for a guy that has not done much in DC.
I respect both guys for the commitment to the Dolphins for the last decade plus, and wish them nothing but the best.

I have to disagree. IMO neither JT nor Zach has the personality to want all of the attention. Remember, they even had Ears' back as horrible as he was. So they would have absolutely loved the fact of having a leader w/ skill on offense.

Look at how many players at each position have changed this year compared to last. That is why we are better. JT went at the right time. We'd be better if we still had Zach and we had the cap space to keep him. His numbers got better in the 3-4 system. Look it up at www.nfl.com
And while we are on the topic of stats, look at his compared to Ray Lewis. If Ray gets into HOF and ZT doesn't....then there is no justice.

The coincidence was Pennington and Jake Long...oh, and Ferguson...oh, and last season just about every starter was on the injured list...that's why...
