The questions are, exactly when will they get it and for how long?
"I plan to play this season, and that's what I told the Dolphins," Taylor said. "I tried to be up front with them about it after all that crap came out about the whole trade thing. I'm like everybody else in America, though. We're in a free country and I could always change my mind."
In other words, when Miami goes 8-8 he will be back.

Wow a great leader for. It's nice to know OUR SUPPOSED LEADER is sending the message that it doesn't matter if you are at dress reherasals. It doesn't matter if you are at practices every day cause "it's all fake". All that matters is game time. I am so glad he is our leader and is sending that message to our rookies and young guys. Cool, let's skip everything and just tell everyone to report to Camp, which he clearly said we'll see if he even goes to that. He'll show when he wants to.
He gets more and more pathetic everytime he talks
I am certainly not defending JT, but you are putting words in his mouth that are not there.
wtf are you talking about ? he was talking about non-contact practices... i swear, people get to him every opportunity they get... YOU GUYS, are getting " more and more pathetic "
Taylor said off-season team activities are essentially meaningless for an 11-year veteran.
I am certainly not defending JT, but you are putting words in his mouth that are not there. If you take him at his word, you can see exactly what you can expect.
Based on his words...
It appears that JT, knowing that this is the twilight of his football career and that he is not getting traded to a "playoff contender", has reconciled to himself that he will play football for the Phins, or whoever he gets traded to when and if he gets traded, and he will make his money, and walk off into the sunset (or soundstage). He can be counted on to be a really good player who will show up when it's game time. I doubt any sooner though, a la Michael Strahan in his last year.
He is not being the voice of the team or the leader of the team. He doesn't want to be cast in that role anymore. (Why we, as fans, project him into that role, I don't know because it looks like he wants to finish his business and move on). Nothing against him either. He knows the curtain is closing on his football days and he wants to go out on his terms as best as possible. Since, as he says, the Miami Dolphins are bigger than him or any one individual, why not let him go out on whatever terms he wants since that is the only thing he has control of now.
And with that said, why all the freakin fuss people? I think most of us have mentally/emotionally moved on beyond JT as a Phin, and look forward to whatever they grow into as a team this year and beyond. JT was a football hero when he was in his prime. We loved him. I have met him twice, and respect him greatly as a person. But it's time to move on. I harbor no anger or resentment towards his behavior and I am a huge Phins fan. If we all move on, whatever highlights we get from JT this year will be a bonus.
