Jason Taylor at LB

You're 23. It's the first you've heard about a lot of things including JT lining up wherever Saban feels like. For all you let's hire Bates fans this will be fun to watch. Jt not being on the corner every down that is!!!!

What did "You're 23" mean? He's naive because he's 23? Nice comeback, maybe you should think before you post next time.

i guess 23 year olds are old enough to be drafted to play but unless your a player...too naive to understand the game or have followed the sport...... btw...just my opinion.....we will be primarily a 4-3 set which puts JT at DE the most although he will slide out to LB for some plays. Traylor is the only widebody we have that can really fit the 3-4 at this point which is why Wright may see some playing time quite a bit ahead of what he really needs in development.

IMO, if you have a top 5, probowl player at DE, you dont move him to OLB.

the only reason you move a player to a seperate position is due to injury or age.

but the fins wont go 3-4 as their base D. you would think the team would know that..... :shakeno:

I seem to remember a guy named Taylor, who played for the NY Giants, that was all over the field, LB - DE, and wrecked havoc on offenses. If JT can play these positions and wreck havoc on the opposition, all the more power to him and Saban!

A) You have no idea what i do and don't know
B) Apparently even the smiley faces werent enough for you to comprehend that I was being sarcastic. The prospect of JT lining up at LB has been discussed to death, bring on another ricky thread!

yeah, i doubt we will see much of him at LB, they also have matt roth at LB, it wont happen to much, but it could

L. Taylor was the most dominating, game changing player in the NFL. JT is very good, but hes no LT.

JT has the size and the speed for the blitzing LB of the 3-4. He could be just as good at LB as he is at DE IMO.

  • During a pair of three-play sequences in the afternoon 11-on-11 drill Saturday, Taylor was aligned at five different positions on the six snaps. Pas/ESPN
  • In a dizzying display of diversity, he played at standup left linebacker, two steps outside the end; standup left linebacker positioned just inside the end; standup right linebacker; right end; and, finally, middle linebacker. Pas/ESPN
  • On one play, Taylor could be coming off the edge from his familiar right end spot, trying to knock down the passer. The next snap, he might drift into the left flat from an outside linebacker alignment, and try to knock down the pass instead. He'll have his long arms up to try to obscure the passing lanes at times and then drop into the passing lanes at others. Oh, yeah, he'll have to play the run, too, a skill at which Taylor's consistency has often been overlooked and undervalued. Pas/ESPN
The article went on to say how much work JT was putting in and had filled several "notebooks" with different defensive options.

JT should be thrilled about the new strategy..... he is and will continue to be the Miami Defense playmaker.
