And there you have the first seeds of player leadership, which is what this team needs.

completly agree. intensity was a problem last year as well, when penny got the start you could see a "fire" brew then he went down. and you could see the deflation. Hopefully Taylor, YB, and Henne can inject some fire this week!

while i liked the teams "confidence" after the pats loss, they were a little too relaxed about it. they need more fire and a few generals among their own ranks. im hoping for the best.

and I just mentioned this , this afternoon. We need players to take the role of leading. I mentioned JT, Brandon and Henne
There we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sparano should've noticed this already and done what Bill Parcells used to do when he was a head coach: walk off the field with his assistants and let the players take over.

When Parcells's teams were practicing poorly, he would walk off the field with his assistants and have the players take over. That's one way to develop player leadership. Whoever steps up in the coaches' absence and directs the practice is your leader. Then that person, rather than the coaches, can demand a certain level of intensity and effectiveness from his teammates.

i like that tactic. it seems the whole reason we had ANY chemistry at all this season was due to the lockout and the coaches absence. maybe we should try some of that this week. ESP on defense.

Well its about time players decided to step up! This should have started happening right after the pats game because why might have had a little more fire out there against the texans....but im thinking the defense will get there act together against the browns...and we win it by 10

Apparently Taylor was serious in his media comments following the game sunday. Apparently Practices have been lackluster. Blame this on whoever you want, but Taylor addressed the team Sunday about the issue and bell, Henne etc plan to get more passion and seriousness into practice this week, lets help it pays off.

well somebody has to take ownership of this thing.. thats for sure. at the end of the day, these guys have to play for each other. they have to want it for themselves - for each other. and if none of that exists. the team isnt going anywhere anyways. getting 53 men to move in unison is a difficult thing. sometimes that adversity can bring a team a together and sometimes it can tear a team apart. perhaps losing 2 games to start the season will be the best thing that could happen to them. obviously they arent going to be overconfident. they know they have to win. no margin for error now. well see what happens. its definitely going to be "us against the world" because everybody has jumped ship and everybody is going to continue to pile on. the only thing they can do to change it is to win.

good luck fellas

i agree but there is some truth to u practice how u play. need some energy out there

just way too many excuses being made for why we cant put a winnig team on the field. Be so glad when we get a good coach.

it always comes down to leadership, and information (and how u apply that information) my man. and that starts at the top of the chain. sparano is not a leader and he simply doesnt have the knowledge to apply to the tools at his disposal, and lacks basic talent as a coach that he could actually develop to begin with.

he was just never playing with a full deck, at a disadvantage to begin with because he lacks the talent. if he cant lead the troops is there any wonder they lack leadership? is there any wonder why they have been searching for leadership from the beginning? and entire draft dedicated to team captains (last year). no leadership. but if sparano lacks leadership talent how on earth is he going to develop that in his players? its impossible. they are like a ship without a sail.

This is different then what some perceive as the players stepping up and assuming a leadership role. This is the coaching staff failing to make the practices more intense and that my friends, is big trouble.

This is about accountability with coaches AND players. Every single coach and player on this team has to take a look in the mirror and ask themselves, "what can I do better"...

Even if you think you're playing great, or coaching great, and everyone around you is screwing up... you still have to. Take it upon yourself to make sure that you did everything in your power to help that guy not screw up... that's what being a captain is all about.

You'll be surprised at what you can accomplish....

Right now, these guys don't feel like they're prepared to win.

Tom Brady commented about the preparation being the most challenging and gratifying part of the week. Bryant, Belichick, and Brady all get it. The best at what they did/do.
