Jason Taylor...Jason Taylor appears likely to remain in Miami because the trade offers for a player who will turn 34 this year are not likely to be very high...During the owners meetings, several executives estimated that Taylor might not draw much more than a 3rd round pick, even the Jaguars, who appear to be the team with the most interest in Taylor, are believed to be willing to give up only a 3rd round pick. I agree 100 fold, if no one wants to give up atleast a 2nd and a later pick then forget it. He retains a hell of alot more value to our team then a 3rd round pick.

JT is going going to be traded it's just a matter of when. He has no future value to this football team. It is in the best interest of both parties that he is traded.

Does anyone SERIOUSLY think he wants to stick around through what is clearly a rebuilding process?

Well Yes...I do....but the important item is...unless a team WOW's Parcells...his value remains as a player, for the Dolphins.

That is why it is becoming more apparent that we are going to sign Jake Long. BP said JT is a dolphin and I for one am starting to believe that is what will happen.

I wanted a 2008 pick for him, but if teams are playing hardball, then forget it.

there will be injuries and teams desperate for a missing piece in the fall

trade him for a high 3rd rounder. He's no good to us retired next year or at the latest 2009 and we won't be competitive by then.

Good, maybe this will end all this insane talk. The bottom line is this, Jason Taylor is still the best player on this team. You are not going to get a good enough return investment in even the lower second rounds. How did trading Pat Surtain for a second work out?

The bottom line is that you dont trade a proven piece like a Jason Taylor and then hope that the guy you are drafting turns out to be the kind of player Taylor is. Taylor has three to four more good years ahead of him, which will be long enough for him to contribute when we are once again on the upper echelon teams.

Also, as an aside, this is why I don't think we should draft Chris Long this year. While I absolutely love him and is the kind of player I want on my team, we shouldn't draft a strength. This is why I advocate drafting Jake Long, even though I like him less than Chris Long. We don't have another tackle, we have two pretty good OLB's.

Agreed. Those teams only willing to part with a 3rd will regret it next year when he's puttin opposing QB's on their backs from the OLB position on his way to another Pro Bowl.

Not at a high level. Two years at a high level and then slowly erodes over the next two. But I would take an aged Jason Taylor over most other players anyday.

Fair enough, but he wont be in this league in 3 years. I can almost guarantee that

He'll be a Miami dolphin this year unless someone gives up a 1st rounder which probably isnt happening. I just hope we draft Jake Long rather than Chris Long because i dont want Chris to be sitting half the time if Jason Taylor is still here.
