First off, I'm glad he's back.
Next, I think he's played out of position for most of his career at DE. He was always too small(weight) to go up against a Left Tackle. Never really good against the run (against a guy who weighed 100 pounds more than him). Of course, he always had the speed to run around these slow left tackles, and make a big play when it counted.
As an OLB, in the Saban year, JT was fun to watch. Getting around a block from a TE David Martin-type, seems easier than a LT Jake Long-type. It seemed like a more natural fit.
It was also fun watching him in pass coverage, with the long arms (Taylor is 6'6"). And delivering crushing blows on 5'9" receivers.
The guy is 35; he may not have a lot of time left. We've seen what an LT(Lawrence Taylor) can do with Parcells. I look forward to seeing what JT can do.
