its been said before, but ill say it one more time for those who dont feel like reading the 100 other posts on the subject.
Miami's 3-4 defense will not be the base Defense.
Miami's base defense will be 4-3.
im sure miami will use the 3-4 to some extent in some situations, but even then they wont line up in a 3-4. they will, most likly, line up in a 4-3. and just before the ball is snaped, they will move to a 3-4, and hope to confuse the O-Line and get pressure on the QB.
this will be more effective in the first half of the season, because it takes time for the O-Line to work together, and fully understand their responsabilities. especially if they havent seen the 3-4 all season, and/or have to learn how to defend it the week before the game. this takes time away from other things the O-Line could be working on. (thats another bonus.)
so when teh team does go 3-4 (maybe 3 or 4 times a game) they will put the players in the best position for them to be effective, without substituting players in, (to prevent tiping off the other team).
Taylor looks like the best D-Line player to move to the 4th OLB position. because the others are less athletic. but again, that will probubly pnly be for a few plays a game.
