On the loss of Chad Pennington) - "It's a big loss. You hate to see it. It's sad, he worked his butt off to get himself ready to go, and unfortunately he had the injury. In this business, time doesn't stop and wait for anybody, so we have to keep trucking along, and plug Chad Henne in. We understand what we lose with Chad Pennington. The leadership, the guidance, the experience, the professionalism, the approach he has to the game, his mental capacity as far as the game is concerned, and the knowledge he has about the game is something you just can't replace. It's sad, it's tough to lose somebody like that, I feel bad for him."
(On what is lost without Pennington in the lineup, and the fact that he was a captain) - "All those things I talked about is what you miss with[out] Chad, and that's why he is a captain. We understand the nature of the game and these things happen, and you have continue trudging along. The three of us that are left are trying to do our job and pick up the slack. There's a lot of slack to pick up when you lose a guy like Chad Pennington. There's other guys in this locker room that lead, and help out and chip in, and we'll do that."
(On the team's confidence in Chad Henne) - "We believe he can do it and we know he has the skills and the talent to do it. We also know he's going to go through some growing pains and make mistakes. Even the best quarterbacks in this league make mistakes. We're there for him and I talked to him briefly and said, 'go out there and do what you do, it's your team, we're going to have your back, and we're going to follow you.' He's going to be good."
