Jason Taylor wants to play beyond 2009

If last season was an anomaly, I could see him around for another year until we get some young LBs.

Did the Rock's last movie flop at the box office? :chuckle:

So a couple of years ago, he was looking to retire soon and now he's not retiring until he's kicked out. Who knows with this guy.

We'll see how he plays. If he can just almost get back to where he was, I'd love to have him around for a couple.

If JT can recapture his old playing days, he will likely be in Miami beyond this season.

I think it all comes down to how much JT wants it. If he dedicates himself as much towards being the player he once was, as he did to his Dancing With The Stars, and other projects, then I think he can be a pro bowl player once again. His acting career or broadcasting career will always be there after he retires. I just want to see him kill Brady like he used to.

True that JT has to be dedicated but he will also be 35 when the season starts and all the determination in the world can't always keep your body injury free. I think the days of Pro Bowl type play is behind JT.

I really wouldn't get my hopes up for JT unless you can settle for a role player who is at the end of his career.

Idk about anyone else, but Roth as the run-stopper and bring in JT for a pass-rushing role should be just fine!!! JT and Porter on obvious passing downs shuold solve the pass rush problem, I would think.

The dude is 35, how many 37 year old LB's do you know of in the NFL?

Well the obvious one is Jr Seau, the other guy is Romanouskie but he was juiced up so he probably shouldn't count.

Parcells and company may not want him around after next year, and if we just make it to .500 which is a possibility he probably will start thinking about his post NFL career again. :rolleyes2:

I think Roth is getting a little under sold around here. He had a very solid year last year.

As a pass rushing specialist, I can see him being productive to that age. He stays in great shape, and his success is based on technique as much as physical dominance. Reggie White won Defensive Player of the Year at age 36/37 - if I'm not mistaken.

If he wants to do that then he'll probably have the same treatment that Ricky has. Give him one year contracts.
