Javon Walker? | FinHeaven - Miami Dolphins Forums

Javon Walker?

He is good when he is healthy, but until he stays healthy he will never be a good #1 option.

2004 and 2006 he was over 1,000 yards.

2005 he played 1 game with 4 catches for 27 yards.

2007 he played 8 games, 5 starts in those 8 games 26 catches for 287 yards.

If he can match 2004 and 2006 he would be great. Since he has been having good seasons every other year, this is his year to shine.

One of the reason he is leaving is due to development of marshall and his numbers taking a hit.

with no QB i wonder which WR is going to comehere and have a bad season....

I heard that he has psychological issues from having a murdered team-mate die in his arms

if ever there was a player in the history of sports that needed a change of scenery it is him

Not solid, He has and has had knee problems. He still has to have more, supposedly has degenerative knee joint as per what was out on news sites earlier this year.

Very true...he needs a new begininng so why not Miami?

Two season-ending injuries in his short career. I always liked him though, he looks so fluid on the field. 1,000 yards and 8 TD's two years ago with Jake Plummer and rookie Jay Cutler throwing the ball. Not bad on an offense known for its running game.

For an incentive laden contract? Certainly. The upside is if he stays healthy he is a true #1 WR. The downside? He wants a BIG signing bonus, and gets hurt yet again.

Even if we got Walker, if he gets cut, it would be risky not to add another vet WR for depth. I'd even keep Marty Booker if he signs back on for $2 mil or less.

I think Walker is a tremendous player but his injury history and the way he seems to have got unhappy and wanted to move on from both the teams he's been part of don't attract me much. If he was unhappy with Green Bay and Denver what would he be like in Miami?

Expected to be cut or released. Young player, solid. If we don't go after CJ or Roy Williams, id say wait for him to be cut and then pick him up. Remember, favre loved this kid. I'd think he could do wonders for us. IMO.

Whats the difference between cut or released???

i think you mean traded or released...

anyways...i would love to have him,6'3"/220 and has very nice hands and awareness

If released, maybe. But really makes you wonder if Denver is willing to give up on him after what they paid. Bring him in, give him a physical. If he passes, why not try him out at camp. Worst case, you cut him after a few weeks of camp. Risk vs. potential reward. If he's anything less than 100% before camp . . . . stay clear of him.

I'm all for Javon Walker. Great player and hard worker for sure.

Aside from CJ's personality issues, he's a much more reliable receiver than Walker. I'd take Roy Williams or Ocho Cinco over him any day. But Javon Walker is a much better choice than Derek Hagan for that spot, if we can't get anyone else.
