Contract details:

As the No. 19 pick, James will sign a four year deal worth $12.9 million including the $4.5 million signing bonus. After the 2016 season, the Dolphins will have the option to extend James for a fifth season.

Exact contract details were not immediately available but the contract almost certainly includes offset language, a staple in recent Dolphins deal. That means if James is cut at any point during the contract, the Dolphins will only need to pay the difference between the original deal and a new deal he signs with another team.

Yep Billy Turner is the only draft pick unsigned, which should be soon. I see that those drafted in front him in the 3rd round recently signed.

Sweet! was wondering how long it would take to sign our FRDP. Hopefully he provides many GOOD yrs of service
 
Wow, this years, all the draft picks were signed pretty quickly, once Turner comes aboard, this will be a monumental year getting every signed as soon as possible....nice job.

I saw somewhere that Turner is the last 3rd round pick and lowest yet to sign.

If its fully guaranteed that would make offset moot right? Pretty sure all guaranteed money is paid then offset kicks in after that.

Right, he is 100% going to get his full amount, but if we cut him and another team picks him up we only have to pay the amount they don't pay to complete the full amount we guaranteed. Saying it is 100% guaranteed does not mean the offset language isn't in the contract. If I'm wrong someone please correct me. I think Hickey is at least smart enough to demand offset language.
