Jay Ajayi left in Miami

Bad move from the young RB. It all depends on RB core to take advantage now... Simply put; he blew it.

I realize JA is young and impatient. I get it. I understand him feeling he needs to start. That's probably true of many 2s in the NFL. But he has 16 games to prove Gase wrong and, I assure you, if he IS the best RB, Gase will not hesitate in starting him. In the meantime, he has to work on those aspects of the game I'm CERTAIN have been pointed out to him.

Some people when faced with a challenge in life may feel defeated at first, and others step up to it and meet head on. Let's see if this is a very valuable learning experience for Jay and because of it he becomes an even better person, and stronger football player for it. I hope he turns this negative into a huge positive.

This is for sure something interesting to keep track of, not just because it's Miami but because anybody that watched Hard Knocks for their football fix this season may recall Jeff F. coddling some CB that threw a fit, didn't practice, wasn't happy not being a true #1 CB, etc.. and Jeff told him some Steve Mcnair story and patted it out with him, whereas Gase seems to be going other direction with how to handle player's half-assing stuff. Like to see how it plays out for both coaches/players this season in terms of production.

Either way, I think Gase is sending one hell of a message to future free agents in terms of "jobs aren't given here, they are earned" and I think true football players can respect that.

Hola Homie...

Although my argument wasn't that Miller was overrated, more that a team shouldn't use that much of their resources on a single player at that position....hell even the 6 per I thought was too high (for the position). I also do not believe that using a 1st round pick on th position is a good move either unless he is a special talent (Gurley).

Does Miller deserve what he got paid, yes, I won't argue that he does't deserve that, but I also don't want that team I am rooting for spending that much on the position.

How is 5.5 mill too much when you paying Cameron 8 mill? Miller alone is more valuable than Cameron. The Phins could have kept Miller and Matthews for the same price at Cameron and get triple the impact. Philbin abandon the running game which is the main reason for Miller total yardage not being very high. When he got the touches he produced big time under Campbell. Than his touches were reduced again in order to develop Ajayi. When Miller got his touches he was a HUGE impact on the game and yes very much so worth 5.5 mill. I said this when the phins decided to let Miller go, we will spend 3 more years looking for a running game. We decide to keep a tightend who has been bad for two years in place of two young up and coming players. No way to cut it makes no sense.

You misunderstand me, it has nothing to do with Miller vs the other players on the team, I wouldn't want to spend that type of cash on Jordan either...

I was speaking of the positional value overall. I personally wouldn't want to spend that kind of money of any RB, this isn't a shot at Miler, I even said he deserved to get paid what he did, but how I would personally allocate resources RB is very much at the bottom...just how I feel about the position and what it takes to be decent t the position and the impact that position actually has on the team.

Will be interesting to see how Ajayi responds, whatever the whole story is. I'll be rooting for him to get it together.

Says the guy with an over-sized RB signature.
:confused2:

I watched Chubb this last game, and he is a monster. I don't feel a bit wrong being reminded of Earl Campbell or Herschel Walker by Chubb. He's a man among boys.

But that injury last year scares me like crazy in the long term.

Then again, if tBaum is gonna be calling the shots long-term, why even bother? He'll let the guy walk for nothing when it's time for him to get paid.
