They called this guy "beast mode, jr" and it shows why. Running with a chip on his shoulder.

He will be a starter or share a role by mid season....looks awesome! Another great addition to our team!

My thought is that he was brought in to be a complement to Miller, and next year replace him if we cannot re-sign Miller at a cap friendly number. How was his pass pro? I just saw the NFL Red Zone stuff so far.

For a couple plays I thought Damian Williams had magically developed some vision and power. Then I realized it was Ajayi. He ran with a ferocity that reminds me of Eddie Lacy.

Williams wasn't that bad on the run but still is a little too indecisive. He needs to make a decision and go for it. Ajayi is guilty of some of that as well. Miller looks the best that I have seen from him since joining the team.

Absolutely!

Unfortunately if he can't block, he wont see the field.

Who said he cant block?

Oh yeah, tannenbaum. This was the thing i feared about him, getting envolved in ANY WAY with personel other than helping dawn with contracts. I had posted an article here a month or so back from a Jets beat writer who said this very thing. Let him go wild with contract negotiations but dont let him anywhere near finding talent and drafting. He just isnt a personel guy, financial, contracts, thats his thing, thats where he belongs.

And i couldnt agree more. I winced when he blurted out that he better block comment. Maybe he meant it as a general statement as all rb's in the nfl have to block. But it set some fans off and posters started saying this like they knew this all along. Whenever Ajayi talk was in a thread, like "where is JA?", people would post "he has to learn to block", even though there was nothing about his blocking in camp reports. Only Tannenbaums misguided blurb.

Hamstrings have been his only issue. In fact, i was damned surprised to hear he played! I read just days before after not practicing yet again that his hamstring(s) were still needing treatment. Didnt hear anything about him playing in this game.

Good on him!! And good for us as he is the rb we have needed since ricky left. If his health holds up, he will be one of the greats by career's end. He has all the talent, all the skills, lets just hope he has the knees.

Get on the J-Train....1st game.......not bad.

Nice change of pace from Miller and will get a chance to adjust to pass pro at a gradual pace.

He runs with an attacking style we didn't have.

I'll reserve judgement until I see him do something of significance against 1st teamers in a real game. He didn't look bad though, but Williams looked like that in preseason last year as well.

He most definitely isn't taking Miller's spot any time soon, that's for sure. He keeps getting better every year, just like RT.

Ajayi looked good but then so did Gillislee, so that says plenty about the opposition.
