I think the prevailing theme here would be more how long is it going to be before the defense just realizes it's pointless......they are very very good but they are not going to right such an incredible wrong (our offense) like Baltimore did in they're run. Putting Fiedler in, interceptions or not, gives the offense a guy who is more mobile behind a porous line, can use his feet very well, and I'm sorry, but the 1st half of the tennesee game was an abberation, he was trying to make plays he shoudln't of been trying to make, due to an overwhelming pressure to "shine" so he could keep his starting job. When Fiedler pulls in the reigns and plays the conservative offense he should, he does look a hell of alot better then Feeley. Guys, Feeley is playing the "punting is not a sin" offense and still giving away the ball. If I recall most of jays int's would come when he was trying to bring the team back (like the KC game a couple years ago) and making throws he shouldn't. If we ran the offense like we should, and play field position, fiedler is the better man. And plus, the defense, seems to have a little hope for Fiedler. They don't like AJ (or so the public outrage would make it seem) and by making the switch, we could possibly salvage a win, get a tiny bit of momentum, and go from there. I don't agree with the letting AJ develop thing, the team chemistry is bad when he is in, and I can't really envision him not being replaced with the high draft pick we have if we let him stay in all season. Look I'm not saying jay is the cure or a miracle. I am just saying for the defenses sake, put him back in, play the offense of short throws he's used to...do not make him feel he has to air it out like he did in the tennesee game, and you will see a QB whos better at decision making under pressure and play the short game safer and better. Both of them get picked down the field. Doesn't matter if AJ has the better arm, they both got picked. So now you scale back and go to the short game.....jay far surpasses aj at least thus far in that department. Or so it would seem to me anyway

I agree that Fiedler is very good at the short touch type throws like swing passes and screens. I disagree strongly about his mobility, which to me seems to be very over-rated. He certainly does not use his mobility to his advantage. It must be considered that games are won on big plays nowadays. Very few teams can use the short passing game to drive the field. I personally do not care who QB's, since I believe the Dolphins are a below average team either way. I just think that if you make the move back it will have to be for the remainder of the season;Miami will be faced with having invested a significant pick in Feely for little gain, and would have to evaluate the position once again. I just cannot understand what difference a few wins and losses really mean at this point; the Dolphins are not a contender by any stretch of the most optimistic imagination and all serious organizational energies should be expended on solutions for next season. The idea that this thing can be turned around in time for this season is beyond all but blindly hopeful reason. The future means more than the present really, and Fiedler is not part of the future.

Fiedler KNOWS this team, and he KNOWS how to handle a crappy O-line..... if nothing else he and Chambers have better chemistry. i say that we should put Fiedler in for ONE game, if nothing else to save face and finish 1-15

Yea Jay is much better at the short gains. Short minus yard gains. Gains going the other way from INTs, sacks and fumbles.

I think Feeley has proven he is more than adequate for INTs going the other way, for TDs.

All I'm saying is for this week, stick him in there, if he salvages a win, keep him there. All I know is Pennington and company do not need AJ throwing td's their way...if we are to have any chance at all, Jay is the man. And if I thought AJ could be a long term solution I'd be all for the growing pains, but this is pain for no reason. He is going to be replaced by the high draft pick he gets us. he doesn't fit our team. Jay should be given his last chance to ressurect a dead season.......if it doesn't happen fine, but you know what it doesn't hurt the front office any if he pulls a couple wins out of his ***, and keeps us watching.........

Jay is going to get picked just as much if not more than AJ.

Look where the coverage is. They aren't playing 8 yards off the receiver at the line. They are right on top of their man because they know they only have to cover the receiver for 2 seconds at the most, before the ball comes out.

I don't see how a weaker armed QB is going to fair any better against that type of coverage.

Dangit people - Seriously - I think you are all missing the point. This is a growing pain yr. Fiedler might be able to get us a win or two, but who cares, we know that this season is not gonna happen for us. SO lets just be patient and let AJ work through the growing pains. We need an OLINE first then we can see if AJ is worth the 2nd rounder. Jay is a great backup, he is not an NFL calibur starter we have seen that for four yrs. AJ might turn into crap to, but if we dont keep plugging away with him in there we will never know. I for one am tired of giving up draft picks for other people's crap, but i think we seriously need to leave AJ in.
