It turns out there are parts of the Miami Dolphins offensive scheme that suit Jay Cutler better than the offensive scheme he and Adam Gase ran in Chicago.
But there is something about Gase that hasn’t changed, and Cutler likes it.
“He has got an aggressive nature at heart,” Cutler said of Gase on Wednesday. “He wants to score points. Three (points) at halftime (against the Chargers), he knew that wasn’t going to win the game. We were going to have to do some stuff offensively, push the ball downfield to win this one. He’s not dumb. He’s the head coach here for a reason. He has been successful for a reason.”

He wasn't aggressive in the first half...it took him a whole half and 3 points to realize that he needed to be more aggressive? Really?

Stop with the WR screens and throw the ball down the field to Landry, Stills and DVP...heck....Grant too....

Also, what happened to this "attacking" defense that is promoted every summer? It's all hype...

I like Gase, but we looked like a Sparano/Philbin led offense last Sunday.

Guys are still developing chemistry yet some of you want us to be ultra aggressive despite it being our very first outing, how about we establish a rhythm first and gradually work our way up to being more assertive.

I think they will get more aggressive as time goes on. Cutler has been here 6 weeks and hasn't played an NFL game in a year and s half. I think Gase has more confidence in Cutler than we may think but that's speculation until we see it on the field. Why are we paying Cutler 11m if we're going to play him like Matt Moore. Make no mistake the end of the Chargers game was Matt Moore vs Buffalo.

Yea he wasn't very aggressive last week. He was feeling out his QB I think

The D blitzed more than enough, problem is none of the backers got home in time.

I think Hoops is on to something there. I don't think Gase trusts his OL yet, especially with those two DE's that the Bolts have, so he played it 'safe'.

I think it was smart to start conservative and get aggressive later in the game the other day.

Right now this is a team with a new quarterback, that needs to establish its faith in the quarterback, and the quarterback's leadership of the team.

If Cutler would've come out aggressive early and bombed with INTs let's say, it would've been quite the negative start to his tenure in Miami in terms of the above.

Instead, he managed the game in the first half, and then won it in the second. That's quite a good start.

I think the theme of the season is gonna be "limit the qb exposure"
I agree here early on.

But if Cutler establishes that confidence and does gradually take more and more ownership in this thing. I could certainly see Gase giving him the keys to the car, with a still balanced running game.

My thoughts exactly.
