Ive seen him miss some crucial ones. IMO he has kind of been a question mark throughout his career.I hope he does well here and has a lot of success, but right now I dont know I get the feeling of confidence when I hear his name. How do you think he will perform in the clutch situations for us this year? What are your guys opinions of him?

You are correct, there are questions with him. I think one of the main reasons Cam liked him is that he is used to kicking in the cold so should give the Dolphins an advatage over Mare in that respect. Maybe the new environment will boost his game... we can always hope!

I don't think he'll be a problem in the clutch. Just don't ask him to boot many over 45 yards, and we'll be happy with him.

Hopefully with Teddy Ginn returning kicks, field positioning for our offense would allow them to convert 2-3 first downs to make it enough for a 40 yard FG at least.

It isn't like Mare had been very clutch for us the past couple of years, so I don't really think it should be much of a problem.

Feely had to kick in one of the toughest places in the NFL. The Meadowlands is often cold, windy and generally unfavorable for kickers. Not to mention kicking for a big market team like that is pretty pressure filled. Give the guy credit, after that one horrendous game against Seattle where I think he missed four FG's, he has been able to put it past him and become a very solid kicker. I bet a lot of kicker's could never regain their confidence after a game like that.

Its always nice to have that advantage of a guy with the booming leg to make the opposition nervous and give our offense that extra dimension.

Well, we don't have that. Not that we had it with Mare, either...Mare was so scattershot from that distance it was ridiculous.

I'm personally wondering if the new punter will end up with kickoff duties.

i'm fond of feely because i picked him up as a free agent in fantasy football the year he broke out with the falcons. helped me win quite a few games down the stretch :D

All I know, is that last night in Madden the guy missed two chip shot field goals, an extra point and kicked two kickoffs out of bounds.

So either he sucks or I really suck at kicking, in this case I hope it's the latter!

Even with a "dud kicker" we beat the Jets 30-0 and Thomas Jones only gained 7 yards rushing, Ronnie had 127 yards and 2TD's!

With that kind of performance we won't need to rely on our kicker!

Did you had your mode set on rookie? I'm pretty sure at All Madden mode, the offensive line would've got owned.

VT Dolphan is right and Im surprised more of you didn't say the same... Its difficult kicking at the Meadowlands because its always cold and the wind is crazy! As for that Seattle game... I understand because THAT place should be called the Windy City!! He should be fine down here given our wind is, for the most part, undercontrol and rarely intense. I think THATS why Cam picked him up. After kicking in NY and having a good-to-above average season last year... it should be a walk in the park down here (just keep it within 45yrds LOL). Expect another break out season (or atleast a season better than mare's last) like the one with the Falcons just down here in the DEEPER south. Now on the other hand dont be surprised if Olindo has a really good season next year not because hes better but because he plays for a DOME team its not that we got jipped in the release of mare and signing of Feely it just benefits Mare Stats more BUT I'm really happy with Feely.

Iam down with Feely just cause i dont want to see Mare look scared and then miss the tying or winning field goal AGAIN!

umm go back two years against the Seahawks. He had three attempts at a game winning field goal. I do believe two were in the final mins of the 4th and another in overtime. None of these were gimmies, but they weren't that far either. He is a folder. I remember watching the game thinking he was going to miss the first one for the sake of the Hawks, but then again he lined up to kick and then again in overtime. I laughed my arse off at the Giants that day. Even Shockey thought he was going to make at least one of them by taunting the camera.

This guy by no means is gonna win us a game. He might kick some decent field goals during the game, but he will not be the reason we win, but rather the reason we may not win. How many games have we lost the last few years by just a few points?? Probably too many to count.

Anyways I hope I am wrong and Feely's leg does a great job.

That's what I'm thinking CK. Everyone was worried about the possible field position we'd lose when Olindo wouldn't kickoff. However, I always thought our Punter would do kickoff duties, which I hope will happen. The punting situation is a small little, but interesting, aspect I'll be interested in watching unfold in Preseason.

The one thing I worry about Feeley is how well he does with the clay in our two home games in September. Those kicks could loom large if they cost us a game or two when the season unwinds.
