Jay Fiedler... what do you think of the dolphin's getting rid of him ?

I always have thought that Fiedler and Feeley were both very similar....they can have their good moments but they both make horrible decisions and end up throwing INTs from not being able to look off the receivers. Neither one amounts to much....hopefully we can find a franchise QB in next year's draft as none of the QB's we have now are going to take us anywhere.

jay was horrible

Jay is at least a warrior and has some speed. He played solid for us and made some memorable moments, so everyone shut up about how bad he is.
Feeley, Freotte suck compared to fielder. It was right not to keep him but we shoulda gotten someone that can throw

And yet we find ourselves in this current predicament while he spent his 1st 4 years here leading the team to an average of 10 wins.

Yet without Jay Fiedler. With a decent quarterback, maybe Miami would of made it to the AFC championship.

Idk from what i've seen i think jay would have still been a better fit w. the dolphin's also he look's very impressive w. the jets what do you guy's thinK>>

Not enough arm for this style offense, glad he's gone.

I, for one, feel that we got rid of the wrong QB. Unfortunately for Jay, he had too many cards stacked against him (salary, weak arm, the fact that the Phins were obligated to keep AJ after spending a 2nd round pick on him, and the wrath of the fans). It was just as well that Jay went elsewhere since he was doomed if he stayed here. Mark my words, if Penny goes down, Fiedler will light our defense up. History has shown us that our former players that go on to our AFCE rivals tend to have their biggest games against us.

Yep, our D is going to get a lotta throws from Fiedler. He'll light up the scoreboards with defensive TDs.

Might have. We'll never know. He wasn't nearly as bad as many made him out to be. Was he a great QB, not by any means. But he did an adequate job for the most part. I'm not suggesting we bring him back. His time here was clearly up. But when you look at the current QB situation, it doesn't really seem any better than when he was here.

i've been a fiedler hater since day 1, but jay is actually better than any qb we have right now, and that's pretty damn sad. reguardless i was glad to see him go.

So far as talent goes, Miami should have kept Jay and cut Feeley. However, Even if Jay took a pay cut to backup level, cutting Feeley would have involved a million dollar cap hit.

If Frerotte does not pan out, we are well and truly farked...

To cut Jay and then play Ferotte as the starter is wrong. Play Feeley and see if he can be better then the both of them. We need to know.

Is that going to be what people say about AJ Feeley the entirety of his contract?

I'm not taking a position on this Gus/AJ thing because I'm willing to just let the coach choose. Still, it is amusing to see so many of you who hated Fiedler be so forgiving of AJ.

I was forgiving of Jay for many seasons. I want to give A.J one full season. If he is not the one so be it.

I think if he played pro bowl calibre this year (and he won't of course!) I would still not regret his leaving. He just had to go to get a change and let the new starting QB work without someone nipping at his heels........Oh well, at least we got the change.

Still it's nice to see a new QB controversy as opposed to the same old one!

He looks good at times just like when he was here but he can never be consistent enough to produce at high levels and the levels needed to be succesful in the NFL

Jay came, played, managed games pretty well and won. But he always left a feeling that things could've been done better. He simply wasn't the solution after 4 years.
