Boy i never thought i would say this I MISS JAY....lol....i liked Jay but it was definitly time for him to move on ... we all wanted him to go but who right now wouldn't take him over Gus....he couldn't throw the deep ball but he would hit an open reciever 5-10-15 yds down field.....now i'm not saying we should have kept him because like i said it was way time for him to go but compared to Gus... Jay was an all -pro...... i think Gus gets one more game i don't think Nick wants to put Sage in againts the Pats..i hope i'm right....

yeah i like jay and to me in our offense
I'd take a qb that hits 12-15 short passes and 1 out of 5 long passes
than

5-15 short and 3 out of 5 long,

we r a run offense and to run the ball 14 times w/ ronnie is just pathetic

We should ban anyone who even mentions missing Jay. :shakeno:

1) He couldn't hit the long pass, you acknowledge that.
2) He couldn't hit an out route to save his life, remember all the GD interceptions run back for TD's, or have you forgotten?
3) He was/is severely injury prone the last few years.

You give me a big friggin headache. thanx

Jay is not better than Gus...as hard as that is to imagine. Gus is the reason we've had so few sacks...

Gus Frerotte is a backup quarterback. Jay Fiedler is a backup quarterback. Both are liabilities as starters.

Jay Fiedler=Gus
Gus=jay

very simple

I'd take the Jay we had the first few seasons then Gus ANYDAY. Jay put up 2 80 QB rating seasons in those 3 years. Hell an 80QB rated QB with this team and we'd be 5-3.

Those saying they are the same aren't giving Jay enough credit. He gave us a couple 80 rated seasons and was good for some extra rushing with his feet. That would make a hell of a lot of difference to us now. Guy just couldn't stay healthy.

Are you people insane???????????????

Sage starts... beg him (Jay) to come back. Don't let past hatred blind you to the reality.

Don't let the current inadequacies of our QB blind you to how bad Jay really was. His best year was Ricky's 1st season in Miami, yet Jay only played in 11 games, and threw a wonderful interception in the final minutes of that Pats game that year. The year before that he threw 19 picks. That's fine by me if you give 30+ TD's, but only 20 vs 19 is not good at all. His limitations were just as responsible for this teams playoff and regular season failures as anyone's.

Do I say Jay is any good? No. Your already blinded by your past hatred of Jay. Simple fact is Jay put up 2 years of 80+ QB rating play. By the way Jay's best year was PRIOR to the arrival of Ricky Williams (2001). Sure the QB rating was better the following year but I feel he played much better in 2001 and had a great rushing year also.

The only fact being made by me in this thread is that Gus/Sage blow in every which way. If Gus was playing up to Jay's level sadly there wouldn't be much of a discussion as to playing Sage.

God bless Saban when he can finally get a real QB in here.
