Jay Glazer: Mike McCoy next on the list possibly

I will ask you the same question I asked another guy, when you watch Denver play do you say to yourself, damn we should hire their Oc because I love the playcalling.
If you can answer that with yes then fine but I mean really the denver offense is a mess

Honestly? The Denver Coordinator I wish we were talking about is Dennis Allen. John Fox let Allen run his own defense and I like what I've seen, but I do like some of the things McCoy has tried.

So if you were running the team you think he merits an interview for head coach based on that. Im just talking not judging. I just dont think he has been that impressive as an oc to be like hey lets look at him for head coach.

I think McCoy has done an amazing job adjusting to find ways to win.

McCoy will kill the interview. Ever listen to him talk?

I dont want the guy that interviews the best I want the guy that will do the best job and Mccoys resume is quite thin.
tebow improvising has alot more to do with them winning than the oc

I agree. If we're going to interview Mike McCoy then why not interview the Denver DC Dennis Allen? They are both young (39). Denver's success this season has been based on their solid defense more than Tebow and his disciples. Denvers D ranks in the top 5 in total defense. Either guy is a risk though, IMO.

McCoy has done a great job in Carolina and Denver with different types of QB's.

I wonder if Kyle Orton or Brady Quinn would come with him? I bet he could work well with Moore.

Those of you hating on McCoy and calling his offense dinosaur like are making a lazy assessment.

He has a QB that does not have the skill set of a NFL QB yet in MIDSEASON he has changed the offense totally to FIT THE PLAYERS strengths. He got a ton of milage out of Jake Delhomme.

Who cares what his offense is ranked? The question is can he coach. He is rising up my rankings late in the process.

Hayden, McCoy is not responsible for Denver changing their offense. I dont know where you heard that but it's just not true. McCoy was against changing the offense and was forced to by John Fox

I just disagree about the resume being thin...he is 39 and has worked in a variety of positions and got a ton from a diverse groups of quarterbacks.

Really? Okay thanks for the heads up....all this time I thought it was McCoy.

I guess this article is full of **** then. People around the league have raved at what he has done with Tebow. Did you watch NFL Match Up with Jaws this morning. Illustrated how great of job he did vs the Steelers the other night.

So you like the way he calls a game in Denver . I think thats some horrid football. God is just as responsible as McCoy in my opinion for them being in playoffs and Im agnostic so you know where Im going
Do I like this year's Denver offense? C'mon. I admire the flexibility, but that offense is too ugly to love. He did good work calling a normal offense with limited talent last year. In fact, throughout his career he's seemed to get the most out of limited talent.

I get tired of people wanting to look at people because of their age. There is no stunning development that makes any age coach any better. Was not really harping at you so dont take it wrong.

c for
he has been an oc for two years neither year was the offense spectacular while a guy like philben has been oc for a top 10 offense the past 5 years. So yes his resume is thin. I do think Mccoy is an up and coming coach, i just dont think he deserves to be looked at for head coach right now. Not a bash just my viewpoint.

yes that article is wrong. McCoy may have adapted after he was forced to change and kudos to him for that. But local reports before the playoffs started said he was resistant to change and only after the detroit slaughter of Denver was he forced to change by John Fox.
Denver's offense is brutal at times and defense and a clutch kicker have more to do with Denver's success than mccoy.
