Jay Williams Cut by Rams

When I clicked reply I had a really good post in mind but I think I have bended the TOS enough since I registered. Plus, it would be in poor taste.

I guess I will just :lol: like the rest of you

EDIT -- Yep just checked, the Fins signed Jay as an unrestricted FA in 94 and then cut him before the end of training camp, he then signed with the Rams.

We traded DE Al Wallace and a 4th to Carolina for Williams when we had Ogunleye on the roster. After the trade, Ogunleye promptly broke out. Meanwhile, Williams started 1 out of 48 games for the Dolphins: The Monday nighter against New England last year.

Williams was a nice role player for the Phins. Got 6 sacks that first year here. But he'd never had more than 6 sacks in his career. And he was 30. We could have just kept Al Wallace, a local guy who's still playing for the Panthers.

But hey, at least we didn't give Williams a $300K bonus and then cut him three months later like St. Louis did.
 
Just as added news I emailed Florio over at PFT today and the rumor has it he was cut because he didn't get along at all with the defensive line coach in St Louis.
