Now this is an acquisition I could wholeheartedly approve of.

I will be shocked if we don't look into making this guy an offer.

I'll be honest and say I don't know anything about him. Can someone give me some info?

Good when he's not injured. Has hip problems.

Howard played in eight games last year, starting four, before going on injured reserve with a hip injury. There’s been no recent word on the status of his hip, but the Chiefs may doubt he’ll be able to return to the form they got from him in 2015, when he played in all 16 games with 13 starts and 5.5 sacks.

The 28-year-old Howard entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2012. He played in Seattle as a rookie and then was waived before his second season and picked up by the Chiefs.

The Chiefs have enormous salary cap issues. This may have a lot more to do with their finances than Howard's prognosis.

PFF ranked him just ahead of Jordan Phillips last year in his injury shortened year. 55th. In the previous year's before his 2 year 12 mil deal from KC he was one of the higher ranked Interior defenders in the league. Top 15. He could be a steal at this point, especially on a one year prove it deal.

Hopefully, we don't lowball the guy on a one year deal for peanuts. He's not an unknown quantity any longer. He can laugh in our faces and take a FA tour to sign for either a higher "prove it" deal...or a 3 year contract.

This is all dependent on his hips....

Dam Williams formerly of the Raiders might be more sign able. Keeping the yapping Chihuahua and his half shift clean might be worth it.

Since Gase said they are keeping the Wide 9 but "doing some things differently" might signal a slight shift into a under front or needing a 2 gap NT plugger.

I did a scouting report on Howard about a month ago. Dude is an average pass rusher and good run defender who just need to play limited snaps because he gets tired towards the end of the game and gets lazy with technique. Would love to sign him to a 2 yr/7 mil deal

Is that our rubber stamp price for FA's?
