The Dolphins do not have imminent plans to add free agent C Shaun O'Hara, a
source tells the Miami Herald.

O'Hara is 34 and coming off two surgeries on his feet. The
Dolphins would be silly to guarantee his contract for the entire season, even
if they need a mentor for rookie C Mike Pouncey.

Ive been wondering if thats what they are waiting for to add Ohara is after week 1 when they will not be on the line for the whole contract

stop gaps anyways. all these people mentioned are stop-gaps. We are going in with Murtha, Garner, and Columbo with PS player TBN later.

So take your chances with the OL vs the Pats, lose, and then sign a guy b/c he's cheaper than he was a week ago?

i read that he wasnt 100% healthy. i dont want to sign a guy if he isnt healthy, plus they are gonna probly go after the ex cowboy that was released

So a guy coming off 2 surgeries, playing a position he is not used to or moving Pouncey to a G when he has played C for the last couple months is the difference between Miami winning and losing in the MOnday Night opener?

Listen, I agree, a move should be made. But there is a little exaggeration as to what some people are saying.

Ok lets say we sign Ohara and Gurode. Then what happens if they still aren't healthy or don't pan out. The same people critiscizing us not getting them will be critiscizing the FO for wasting money on injury prone players or in Gurodes case what some will suddenly claim " Dallas's trash, reason he was cut"

This move will not make the difference in week 1.

This move, however could make the difference over a course of the season. So there should be some urgency but not to the point of guaranteeing a contract on a guy who is still available and might not be fully recovered.

This is actually a very good move, for the sake of the franchise if they do wait till after the first week to get this guy.

I hope everyone is ready as the OL is set. Aside from Murtha taking Columbo's spot, this is it.

murtha suprisingly hasnt been that bad. he had some dumb plays and false starts but has been a probowler compared to craplombo

First he says no Gurode , now no O'Hara, Jeff is a major Debbie Downer today!

I think another possibility for not signing one of the partially injured or older linemen now vs after week one is not only the obvious saving of money, but the very real possibility of signing someone younger and potentially better after the cuts on Saturday. Why sign someone now when you may find a better replacement on Saturday? I'm sure they also wanted to see what they had with the guys they have now. I'm thinking they must be seeing what we are seeing. That being said... I have some very real concerns about the right side. They remind me of the damaged side of the Titanic... everything just runs right in.
