Darlington was on the Jim Rome show today and had a ton of new information. (mods please change the title to the Jim Rome show)

Darlington said he had sceen the tweets from Cogs to Martin.

1. Said the prank pulled on Martin was the exact same prank pulled on Garner last week. Said that Martin was in the group of linemen that got up and walked away when Gardner sat down. Said this has been an ongoing prank all season.

2. Said entire Dolphins organization was blind sided by Martin walking out. Players in the locker room had no idea Martin was dealing with a bullying issue. Said coaches had no idea he felt this way as he never told them.

3. He spoke to Cogs. Martin did tell Cogs via text he didn't blame him. Darlington couldn't be sure or not if Martin told Cogs he didn't blame him or the other o-linemen for fear of what Cogs would do.

4. Said based on what he heard from Fins players and people in the organization was that nobody really thought what was happening was a big deal. Said that Martin never brought it up. Said that it doesn't make it ok that it was happening and that if Martin felt bullied that is all that matters.

edit

5. Something that I also forgot to mention was that Darlington said the Cogs and Martin hung out together in season and during the offseson. Said they would go to the same bars/night clubs together and that they live in the same area

edit # 2

Philbin's got to be in CYA mode. Reports are Martin approached coach this off season about teammate issues and apparently nothing changed.

Again, what Incog did was detestable, however as I said before, for whatever reason, be it sensitivity, sexuality, mental issues, etc., IMO Martin was planning for a defining moment like this, already colluding with his lawyers for the time and place to make the most noticeable statement. Him playing the same trick on Gardner the previous week only confirms that he's been an opportunist in trying to get away from a)football; b)Incog (and who could blame him) and c)extorting as much "retirement fund" he could on the way out.

I agree that no one should be treated the way he was; however I don't think he's blameless here.. and unlike the old cliche.. "two wrongs don't then make either one of them right"

Not sure why Philbin and company would do that. People were complaining last year during Hard Knocks that Philbin seemed too worried on controlling little details of the team that weren't important.

Why would he hear what Martin had to say and essentially tell him to **** off?

Maybe he didn't tell him to **** off but didn't he obviously didn't follow up on it or just didn't care. It happens.

In my opinion, Philbin is scared of the players and how they perceive him.

Because you have a Rookie or young player complaining about a Probowler. That is why nothing gets done.

This one gets on my nerves.

So the OP states that Darlington said no one knew about the bullying. First response on FH, Philbin must have known and is covering his ass. Great day...

Jeff says no one knew but other reports have indicated Martin told him. Who are you going to believe?

And it's Philbin's character when dealing with issues so small/insignificant as this in the past that makes me shake my head with people who are saying that Philbin and the rest of the players in the locker room just let the bullying take place. You really think with Philbin's attention to detail, he wouldn't have known something like this was going on and that if he knew a player was being bullied to the point of walking out on the team that he wouldn't have put a stop to it? Doubt it.

Then why didn't Martin turn over the txt and voice mails at that point?

If Martin gave Philbin that evidence, proof, then you have a point. If not, in no way is Philbin in the wrong.

if Philbin didn't know and it was only incognito being a a$#hole, then all that has to be done is to cut incognito and move on.. hopefully that is all that it is..

During the interview, Rome asked the same questions. Darlington spoke about how he covered the Fins for 9 years, said that he still has a ton of friends both on the field and in the front offices. Said he is trying to get the story from everyone in the entire organization.

I'm gonna tend to believe the person who made his career by covering the Fins more than anyone else.

Well of course the one that I agree with the most ;)

Jokes aside, I can't remember who put those other reports out but Darlington is pretty trustworthy
