Jeff Darlington on Jim Rome

I've said from the start, if Martin didn't lose the LT spot he never had to work for, none of this would've came out. Spoiled rich kid only made this a huge deal when he got demoted to RT. If someone slanders you racially and threatens your family and it causes you a great deal of distress, you don't go around NOLA hanging with him or being a side kick to him on other pranks. The timing is too convenient for us to ignore IMO

Darlington is pretty keyed in and reliable. So I trust him and this seems very plausible. When I first heard about the "bullying" accusation I immediately thought Incognito had something to do with it. I mean its wrong, but someones past history sticks with them. That being said, there was an episode on hardknocks last yr where Cogs was ripping into Egnew and broke into his facebook or something. Eggnew just laughed it off but Cogs looked at him with disgust. It was probabaly a lot of that stuff in the locker room which people just thought whatever and then the threats and stuff behind the scenes were probably a lot more elaborate then anyone could of imagined.

So Martin has played these types of pranks on others and he gets mad?

If all of this really is a line up for a lawsuit by Martin..... same as the girl at the office with the big chest wearing the low cut shirt and complaining about dudes staring.

Well of course the one that I agree with the most ;)

Jokes aside, I can't remember who put those other reports out but Darlington is pretty trustworthy
I've always liked Jeff as he has normally been the most level headed and accurate of the writers in S Florida. No doubt that Beasley and the others are capable of overstating the story.

I really hope Jeff is right but sadly, I think this may very well get worse.

Jeff says no one knew but other reports have indicated Martin told him. Who are you going to believe?

Darlington is one of the best and and I see no reason for him to lie, but I need to see who reported that coaches knew. If it was Jay Glazer reporting it, it's more than likely true. If it was somebody like LaConfora I'm not buying it

I've got to be honest I haven't liked Darlington's reporting on this story at all. It seems like he's trying to kinda defend Ritchie without really defending him. This was not just simple locker room hazing. This was excessive and hateful bile from a psychotic.

If Philbin knew about this and the content that was directed at Martin and decided not to do anything then everything I thought I knew about Philbin is skewed and I'll be eating some crow myself.

That works both ways.

Not is this case. Incognito's his main Dolphins source.

There's no way Jeff is basing his report on just Incog as his source. That is some Florio ****. Darlington stated he's spoken with multiple people.

If you followed the reports as they came out, you could have seen who was defending Incognito and you'd understand why Darlington's reports are not reliable in this case. At this point Darlington is trying to cover his ass we well.

Darlington was on the Jim Rome show today and had a ton of new information. (mods please change the title to the Jim Rome show)

Darlington said he had sceen the tweets from Cogs to Martin.

1. Said the prank pulled on Martin was the exact same prank pulled on Garner last week. Said that Martin was in the group of linemen that got up and walked away when Gardner sat down. Said this has been an ongoing prank all season.

2. Said entire Dolphins organization was blind sided by Martin walking out. Players in the locker room had no idea Martin was dealing with a bullying issue. Said coaches had no idea he felt this way as he never told them.

3. He spoke to Cogs. Martin did tell Cogs via text he didn't blame him. Darlington couldn't be sure or not if Martin told Cogs he didn't blame him or the other o-linemen for fear of what Cogs would do.

4. Said based on what he heard from Fins players and people in the organization was that nobody really thought what was happening was a big deal. Said that Martin never brought it up. Said that it doesn't make it ok that it was happening and that if Martin felt bullied that is all that matters.

edit

5. Something that I also forgot to mention was that Darlington said the Cogs and Martin hung out together in season and during the offseson. Said they would go to the same bars/night clubs together and that they live in the same area

If this true, then IHMO the Phinz should dump Martin as fast as they can. Martin, IMHO was always too soft be a decent player in the NFL. Some of the per-draft reports regarding Martin mentioned that he was SOFT......so if it walks like duck.....if it quacks like a duck....it's a duck.....Martin can't play at the NFL level IMHO.
