Jeff Darlington's take on the Fin's draft

No executive summary for us multi-tasking loiterers? :idk:

Turner the G/T is a mauler and probably will start at guard right away. James is more a technician and the Fin's were afraid to trade back in fear of losing him to Arizona.
Both love the Landry pick as does Joe Rose. A tough guy who can play slot or outside that catches everything.Think Anquan Bolden.
All the small school guys might take a bit longer to get use to the play speed of the NFL

Sorry man, that is total B.S. Arizona would not have drafted James because Bobby Mattie is now their RT. They are confident enough in him that they allowed Eric Winston to go into free agency. The Dolphins reached on this pick, plain and simple.

Just repeating what Darlington said.

Personally I was hoping for a trade back also. It did not happen for whatever reason.
After further review James is a solid choice for starting right tackle maybe taken a few spots early. i can live with that.

Thanks for the info...

Just remember we only have a fraction of the intel that these draft rooms have. If they said they were concerned with AZ they prob were with good reason.

PHINKING: first off, the only thing b.s. is your post. I LIVE IN ARIZONA and the right side of the line is in question and most wanted it upgraded, even expected it. but, like us, they were to far back in the draft to launch a trade that wouldnt cost them a good part of their draft.

this is what was mentioned on the BLEACHER REPORT breaking down their roster after the draft.

Nothing changed at right tackle over the weekend, so Bobby Massie and Bradley Sowell are it for now. That’s good for them, but we’ll see what happens when camp begins. If these two don’t get it done within a week or two into camp, free agents may be getting calls.

second, if you know the cards player so well and your finger is on the pulse of their team as you portray, why couldnt you at least got his NAME RIGHT!! its bobby MASSIE not bobby MATTIE. and dont give us the typo excuse as s is not next to t on the keyboard.

like us last year, not only are some of the starters shaky but the bench sucked to. part of the cards draft was getting more o-line. i love it when fans know exactly what teams are going to do accept their own. and i havnt seen one thing from the fins saying they were sure az was going to take james. the hickey haters have been spouting it and people are taking it as gold. the cards absolutely could have taken him. and SEVERAL TEAMS could have nabbed him before we chose again at #19. teams always draft players people didnt suspect they were going to.

the biggest point is, ju'wan james fit the scheme to the tee and losing him would have put a major dent in the finz plan to improve the line with players who fit the zbs AND were good players. after james, there were guys who fit the power scheme and not the zbs we needed. this choice and staying put at #19 did NOT hinge on the cards but the chance of being selected before we we chose again in the 2nd. and he absolutely would have been gone. hickey did the smart thing and this line is looking real good right now.

ireland never did go with any plan. he grasped at straws. thats why the line hasnt gelled, to many square pegs forced into round holes. hickey made sure the rebuild started with players who absolutely fit the scheme.

your just wrong. plain and simply wrong!!

I agree. RT was there biggest need going into the draft, and I believe that once James was off the board, any trade would have been considered, and as it turns out, taken.

Seriously. Everyone wants to act liked Hickey is an idiot and he reached.........and a lot of people assume we had a trade partner and he just picked James and left picks on the table.

We got the best right tackle in the draft. Enough said!

Its Bobby Massie, and he sucks. He is no starting RT. They brought in Winston last year because Massie couldn't handle the starting RT spot in 2012, and Winston equally sucked. The Cardinals absolutely needed a RT too, and I am very surprised they didn't draft one.

Typical phinking making up stuff lol
