FU Jeff, may your parachute fail the next time you skydive into practice.
PHILBIN is the man....
PHILBIN is the man....
it's called political correctness. There is no way Fisher is going to come out and openly bash a current NFL GM to the media. He has been working in the NFL for a very long time, he knows the game, and he's way too classy to come out and talk about it if he doesn't like somebody.
In other words, the article means nothing. Even if Fisher disliked Ireland, you would never hear about it.
Or there was nothing to validate. The only people saying he didn't choose Miami because Ireland is a "clown" or "douche" are Dolphin fans. All along he said he enjoyeed meeting both Ireland and Ross. What is there to validate?fish is not dumb enough to burn a hiring bridge by throwing flames on the fire after he passes on a job...so if you think he was gonna validate publicly that he didn't take the job cause of the front office that would never happen...

That QB (who has done nothing so far) has a pretty awful contract. When it was suggested, for example, that we trade for Bradford NOBODY thought that was a good idea ("too expensive", "injury prone", "lot to prove" etc) so it would be silly to pretend the Rams are set at QB when there's a fairly good chance (i.e. if SB isn't the answer) that they are worse off than us. At least Moore is cheap
And sure they have the 2nd pick. There's a reason for that. It's because they are awful and they have been for years
Fisher just did us a favor. Of course, you're probably not going to see this story picked up in any national outlets.
i'm saying if it was true he didn't like the front office and that was the deciding factor he wasn't gonna validate what some peoples suspicions were publicly...
I agree with that but nothing he or anyone (besides people on this site) has said would make you believe he isn't telling the truth.
My point is that it has already been decided by many on this site that Fisher didn't choose Miami because he didn't like and therefore didn't want to work with Ireland. That doesn't at all seem to be the case but since the court of public opinion on this site has already decided it to be, nothing that says otherwise will change that. It's extremely juvenile

He also could have said 'no comment.' He's obviously trying to curry favor with the Dolphins here, and I gotta be honest with you, I'm sure it worked. These guys will take anything they can get right now.
If he sold on Ireland's ability to acquire him the players that he needed to succeed as a coach, he wouldn't have stood his ground on the issue of final say over personnel.
All 32 coaches in the NFL want the final say on what player is on the roster. It doesnt mean that Fisher wasnt sold on a GM, it means he believes in the priciple that the coach decides who is on team. He didnt ask for GM powers, he asked for final say. Big difference.
