Jeff Fisher miscalculated....

I might be mistaken but I thought I read that Jake Long gave up the sack that led to Bradford's injury so...

Check the .gifs. That is most certainly #77 on both of those. We made the right decision not to offer him top tier money to re-sign. I will give Ireland credit there.

Seriously though, at Jake Long doing the worm on 2 plays in the same series. And getting his QB's leg shredded in the process.

We offered about the same money as St Louis. I don't think he was worth top tier money but when you spend his money on a career backup like Ellerbee I would rather have kept long.

I liked the Rams as an NFC team until Fisher pulled his stunt. Now I root against the Rams at every turn and Laugh when I see fisher and his confused look.

Any Tackle in the league will at one time give up a sack. Im sure brenden Albert has given up some sacks. Qb's get injured. Now as a LT if you are giving up mulitiple sacks that is a problem
Of course, dlockz, if they're playing for any other team it's natural they make mistakes. But if they're playing for the Dolphins they are not allowed to make a single mistake. If they do they suck big time and need to be cut. Together with the coaching staff, the waterboy, the stadium announcer and the grass maintenance guy.

If Jake Long made that mistake in a Dolphins uniform you would be all over him, Ryan Tannehill for not eluding the pass rush, Joe Philbin for playing those two in a meaningless preseason game, Ross for hiring Joe Philbin, Wayne Huizenga for selling the team to Ross. Your act is getting old. Real old.

Fisher paraded himself like a rock star and some kind of diva because teams without coaches had interest in him. He is a veteran coach only because of Bud Adams foolishness.
Compared to Sparano, he was an upgrade...but that is not saying much.
Philbin is a strange bird but I will give him a few more years. It is not like Harbaugh would like to coach here...:rob19:

No.....failed post. Fisher was considering the Fins but chose wrong so yes Fins related.

Not sure how he chose wrong. He saved our franchise years of losing seasons by going to STL. We should all be grateful.

Ireland says he offered more money than St Louis. Maybe Jake felt so much loyalty to the Dolphins that he didn't want to subject us to his play. Thanks, Jake!

I was so relieved when he passed us by. The guy is the Jay Cutler of coaches. Just good enough that you don't obviously need to fire him, but not good enough to actually get you to the promised land. Mediocrity incarnate.

Except it wasn't just one play. In addition to the injury sack he was beaten badly by Mingo on an inside move and was called for 2 penalties all on the opening drive. He looked like dog ****. I don't care who's decision it was, ours or his, it looks like we dodged a bullet be not resigning him to a big contract.

Decent defense, suspect offense, questionable QB situation...as far as teams go I'd say his choices were a wash. He went with the one willing to give him GM power and I don't blame him.

I don't hold grudges especially when the guy didn't do anything to me personally. I just move on.

Seeing Long dive in desperation there is just sad....pathetic sad, not sorrowful sad

For the last solid two years he was here Long was one of the most overrated players in the league. He was notorious for getting flagged for false starts and holding penalties, during home games no less. Terrible. He's worth 8, maybe 9 million.

Well that's the contract he signed so St Louis paid his value in your opinion I assume. I do agree he was overrated but he was still a good LT
