Jeff Ireland asks for the fans to allow the process to playout

The process WILL play out whether you want it to or not. It has to -- for good or for bad. The question is, "What's your PLAN, Ireland?"
 
now Matt Flynn says his decision was because of the people in Miami (not Philbin). this Ireland thing is building momentum. how in the name of the Almighty can that be 'ok' for this franchise?

What process? We've already lost out (3 times) on signing a quality FA QB, the position of critical need, and there are none left. The draft is meaningless over the short term, because draft grades can't be made for 2+ years.

Other than Manning, the other 2 are no better than Moore. So why tie the money up in them?

They are way better. Flynn is still unproven, but the two games he started were better than anything Moore has put up. Alex Smith was terrific last year, he has turned his career around.

Let's break it down:

Long - one of the best, but he was the #1 pick in the draft, so has basically performed as expected
Wake - good pickup
Dansby - solid, but overpaid
Burnett - has performed as expected
Pouncey - 1st round pick has performed as expected
Bess - good pickup
Clay - still unproven
Carpenter - inconsistent. And he's a kicker
V Davis - still more talk than performance
Moore - looks good only because we compare him to Henne
Odrick - 1st round pick just starting to make impact
Starks - good first year, OK at best since
Re-signing Solai - paying big $'s for youir own guys to stay is not such a big victory

So, basically only Wake and Bess deserve a lot of credit, and was that Ireland or Parcells? And I won't even go into all the duds that weigh against these few victories. And speaking of it, it's victories that count, and we had only 6 last year.

Yeah, but who is to say the victories were on the GM? The team was a different beast the last 8 games versus the first 8 games. We also had numerous chances in the first 8 to close out and win, but failed to do so not because we didn't have the talent to win. That's primarily why Ireland is still here, as once the adjustments were made in which personnel were used and how they were used, we won games and looked like a decent team.
 
I can't believe this is Jeff's 5th year.

Miami drafts Jake Long over Matt Ryan.
4 years later......
Fans - "Ireland, why don't we have a QB!"

Flynn sucks, i suggest you go watch moore and flynn tapes side by side. Moore is twice the QB and it is not very hard to see. I will remind you half way through the season.
