I heard that JI made a gaff during the PC today by saying(paraphrase) We hope our #1 will be a "pillar of our DEFENCE for years to come". OOPs...Then he was corrected and said I thought I said Team. I didn't hear it first hand I was listening to Sadano on 790
 
it was probably planted on purpose for jake long's agent to hear
 
it may be another smoke screen for those teams right behind us that want Dorsey or C Long. I cant imagine we would be that dumb to leak that out by accident. Until we trade JT, we are going offense first.
 
Ireland did this on purpose to make the teams who want Chris Long sweat.

Yes your right...my mistake....guy's like Ireland don't make mistakes...and I believe it was at the Dolphins final draft press conference.
 
The Dolphins have fielded calls about trading for the first pick, according to Ireland. Nothing apparently is imminent if anything were to happen at all.

"People are interested," Ireland said. "People are always interested in the first pick. I'm not going to tell you what people are asking or offering. But I would think the talks would heat up next week."

We already know that at least one team is looking to trade up...they admit to talking to the Rams...so how do we know that they or others haven't spoken to the Dolphins too? Right now...I can see at least three teams wanting to move up for either Ryan or Dorsey...the closer we get to draft day...the hotter it will get.
 
we should be drafting McFadden and then trading him to some team outside the top five for their pick and maybe a player or another pick in Rd 3. If we get stuck with McFadden, it wont be all that bad. Considering injuries to RB and the fact that both McF and R Brown are used to sharing time in the backfield, it may not be that bad. Ground game keeps your DEF off the field and we can draft OL in the 2nd Rd. Trade JT to MIN for McKinnie and draft McFadden. Please dont let McFadden go to the stinking JETS. We will all complain for years to come.
