Just accept it. He may rub players and agents the wrong way but he is no dummy. He knows his job and he is not going to overpay for garbage just to make alot of arm chair dolphin gm's happy. I trust in his ability to deliver the RIGHT QB at the RIGHT price. The season doesn't start for another 6 months.

Yeah, because he's been SOOOOOO successful at that so far. :bobdole:

I agree with this - when it comes to football anyway. And I openly support him and his decision making. At the end of the day his success/failure will be judged by wins vs. losses.

One comment I would like to make about him is if he truly knows how to court a player in free agency. You have toknow how to play the game, make a guy feel wanted, you have to make an impression (a positive one!). Can he play and win that game?

Lol... How long has he been the gm of the dolphins? And has he delivered a franchise qb to date? Or even better, even really tried? Considering qb is the most important position in all of sports mr Ireland has sure struck out. Little moves like signing hicks instead of Winston? Yes Winston cost more money but hicks isn't going to give us anything, Winston... Younger and much better. Call him smarter then 98% of "us" when the guy actually puts a winning team on the field.

Sparano was judged by wins vs losses. Ireland has not been.

I am not interested in how many finheaven posters he's smarter than I'm interested in how many nfl gm's he smarter than, which doesn't seem like 98%

Courting players is one thing, closing the deal is another. Jeff Ireland has a superiority complex and that will not translate well when you have an ego and a potential incoming player does too

No, I wouldn't expect to get blasted on this type of post at all.

And what has he done since taking over as GM? I know, I know, I'm sure it wasn't his fault.

Zero evidence of that pal. He might have a better job than 98% of us, but he's not very good at it.

haha

Same thing like last season...

The defenders of the mediocre front office are upset that people aren't blind sheep like them...

It must be tough to always defend a group of morons.

You love mediocrity. We do not.
