im really excited for the 3 udfa lbs we picked up Luc, Hull, and Vigil. I really think atleast two have potential to make the roster. The most intriguing to me is Luc. I like the others a lot too. just wanted to show a highlight tape of Luc and some other vids on vigil and Hull, just to give a taste. they have tons of potential.
Im a DC and linebacker coach so forgive me for being excited over udfas.

[/COLOR]Hull is an undersized grinder. reminds of zt in the way he plays and prepares

I really believe one of these guys will pan out in a big way for us.

I feel like Luc is gonna translate to the NFL. Looks like he has an eye for the football, power to bring guys down, and enough speed to use that power efficiently.
If he finds a way to get more fluid in his movement, I think he could really be an all-around force in the middle.

It all comes down to special teams. as usual. Whoever shines their first will get first nod.

My money is on Luc who is a better tackler with more power. I saw where he is 263 lbs. Truer MLB. Preseason will be fun watching him.

We have Jenkins, Misi, McCain, Sheppard, Tripp, Paysinger and Knott on the roster.

We bring in Luc, Vigil, Hull and Hewitt. I think everyone of those UDFA are pure ILB except maybe Hewitt (plays ILB and OLB). Our ILB on the roster are Misi, Sheppard and Knott.

I think Knott and Paysinger are easily expendable. I'd even let Sheppard go for a young guy to develop in his place.. But realistically who do we keep? How many LB's do we keep for 2015?

I cant believe this guy didnt get drafted with this weak TE class who we saw yesterday about a 100 of them went late rounds. guys rated 500 and way beyond.

TE class was weak.. Walford the only TE I would have took a chance on.

I was pretty upset when we lost out on Kendricks, the only ILB I was really interested us in drafting. But when you see guys like Luc that we brought in, I can see why the FO passed on a guy like Perryman (who this board wanted) as Luc pretty much brings everything to the table that Perryman does. More importantly with the drafting of Phillips, this FO's mindset is to have the beastly defensive line that can work with a decent ILB who doesn't really need to shed people to make tackles; he can just go clean up after the big boys. And I do like this crop of LBs that we brought in. Surely one of them can play the role of clean up and let Misi slide outside.

I agree w/ Mateo that Knott & Paysinger are expandanble. Though. I'd keep Sheppard as he may have the the versatility to play Will & Mike.

Hull came LB U; I like his chances.

I don't much about Luc other than hearing good things about. He did have the smarts to sign w/ the phins... I like him more already. :chuckle:

Virgil is a pretty much a 4-3 MLB. I think the comparisons To Zach Thomas are apt. He will however need to be stashed on the PS for seasoning and probably would not hurt for some strength and conditioning. Vigil would thrive w/ 2 big DT's (say Phillips & Suh ) in front of him.

Hull has the edge for me but all are interesting.

Mike Hull, ILB/OLB, Penn State
Height: 6-0. Weight: 237.
40 Time: 4.68.
Projected Round (2015): 4-6.
4/25/15: Hull had a quality senior season for the Nittany Lions as he was a quality run-defender and was decent in pass coverage. Hull totaled 107 tackles with 10.5 for a loss, three passes broken up, one interception and one forced fumble in 2014. Hull had a decent week at the Senior Bowl, but didn't really stand out. He ran faster than expected at the Combine.

As a junior, Hull had 78 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, .5 sacks, one forced fumble, and two passes breakups. He recorded 58 tackles with four sacks, five tackles for a loss, one interception, and four passes broken up in 2012.

Personal: Son of Tom and Donna Hull. His father played for the 49ers and Packers.
