Jeff Posey of the Bills was released today....i think he could be a beast in our 3-4 D...anyone think that he might come here because we have Mularkey?

i dunno, cause we got some depth at LB now. so i dont know if we will try and sign him...but i would want him, definitly over keith newman and Sed Hodge

hes overrated, and thaught of as an average LB.

so if hes overrated as an average LB... what would that make him??

Why must every thread be turned into trash talk?..it gets sooooo old.

who is trash talking?

In my post i stated my opinion of the guy. he played a few years in buffalo and i watched all the games, so i think i can offer a good opinion of the guy.

Hes not a guy anyone should be getting excited about it.

and if I am happy that Buffalo cut the guy, maybe the fin fans could take that as a sign that hes not that great of a player.

The problem is I did not see or hear anything bad about Posey or even Anderson before we signed one and even contemplated looking at him. Why did I not hear how bad or overrated they were when they were on the Bills last year?

Your opinion is appreciatted ..but I think if he would sign with us it would be as depth.

he signed with the bills comming off a very good season with houstan. he had 8 sacks that year (i think) and was expected to make an impact and we paid him decent money.

he never excelled and you rarely even heard his name called. Thats not a bad thing, but its not a good thing either. maybe fin fans were not aware of this, but us bills fans were. I call him overrated because he was expected to do a lot here and he didnt do much of anything.

If the fins sign him for a very low amount and use him for depth, then i guess thats ok. but just dont expect a great player like we did, cus you will be disapointed.

Alot of the 3-4 based LBs get paid alot of money do the the specialiazation of the scheme. Over-rated to me is a harsh word...if we sign him as a solid depth guy...I would think it would be ok..no big money

how much of the 3-4 defense will the fins be doing this year? i know yall will show 3-4 for a few plays in the game but are you planning on going 3-4 as your base D?

3-4 LBs are paid a lot. i think the bills made the mistake of taking a 3-4 LB and putting him in a 4-3 system and expected him to produce the same amount of sacks and tackles. and if the fins are going to run a 4-3 base D, they might make the same mistake the bills did. but if they are going to switch to 3-4... maybe it will work out.

With Capers in there..and a year into the scheme change..I look for us to show 3-4 about 75% of the time...so any quality LBs who can play the 3-4 and excelled in it are welcome. Capers was his coach in Houston and Mularkey with the Bills so at least saban will get some good info on Posey before he decides to do anything.

Well, this was unexpected.

Anyway, Posey wasn't that bad or good, he was just "there".

Definitely not a player to write home about.

"There" is about all I could describe of him.
