Jeno James

Who we have excatly to replace Mckinney?

Wade Smith is still learning the position

John ST Claire could be an option but McKinney's footwork is better..

Hadnot is allready locked at RG..

I don't really see an alternative to that bum Mckinney.
I don't see much problem with moving Hadnot to center and trying St.Clair as the starting RG. St.Clair was probably our most consistent OL last year and IMO it would be a better overall unit with Rex at center and John at RG.

WEll, I agree to an extent. HE was a big disappointment based on the big contract we gave him, but overall he was above average for our piss-poor line. Hopefully Houck can work some magic. But if Cook is better, I'm sure Saban/Houck will play him and James can be a top quality backup for a year before we cut him.

  • I would hope James can solidify the guard spot.
  • We are going to need a good "swing man" and to me that's St. Claires best asset.
  • McKinney seems to have the same issues with being pushed back... big concern.
  • It's still early... Houck has worked through this before... let's hope he has the players to do it again.

IMO the Dolphin OL problems last year were more related to scheme than talent. So, simply saying he sucked last year is far too simplistic.

MrClean...it is too early in the morning for you to place such a beautiful woman in our presence...but more on topic, any lineman that get's consistently pushed back i.e. Seth has got to go - scheme or no scheme...

 You got that right!!! :jawdrop:

its still early, lets see what Houck can do... maybe turn our turds into what we saw the Chargers doing last year opening holes for our RB's. heh and i totally agree with the posts on Seth, he's plain out horrible.

Move Hadnot to center and either Cook or St Claire to guard.

There is always an alternative to a bum like McKinney.

I think Jeno James could definately end up being replaced. He's basically been living off his one good season with the Panthers. He's been mediocre with us, and seems to be continuing it. Nor does he fit the mold for our O-linemen real well.

One of the Tackles from last season will probabaly replace him in the interior. Damion McIntosh might be a good fit for the position. He doesnt have the atheletic ability to cover speed rushers on the outside, but he should be a good fit at Guard.

Like me. Where do I sign up! :rofl3:

Serious, I can do what he does (get bullrushed deep into the backfield on a consistent basis), and for a lot less money too. :fire:

Jeno has been fine at prctice so far. Only one struggling are Mckinney and Carey every now and then(keep in mind he is blocking JT), Rex Stockar and Jeno have been solid, not sure where you heard he was stuggling? Jeno had impressed me the most minus how Stockar had shut down the right side of the line.

there is no way yall cut James. there isnt anyone on the fins O-Line that is any better than him waiting to take his spot.

Are all Buffalo fans such rednecks??? Just curious.

The most disappointing OL last year was without a doubt Wade Smith. Nobody can really successfully argue against that one, if you ask me.

But, given the high expectations for Jeno last year, you could say he was the second most disappointing OL. IMO, Seth McKinney was right behind him on disappointing OL, given the high expectations we had for Seth as well.

I've said it in several pieces that I've written to date. The Dolphins have added Vernon Carey to the mix at LT, and grabbed Stockar to hold down RT, so we may have a new set of tackles when the season opens (stress MAY, because Carey may not beat out McIntosh), but we left the interior OL completely alone. I can understand the push for consistency, but Seth McKinney and Jeno James have not done anything but disappoint since they arrived as Dolphins. Sorry, but it is true. You don't want guys that get out there and "do a nice job"

You want guys that go out there and grab you by the boo-boo. Stockar McDougle is doing that right now. Vernon Carey is even doing that right now. Rex Hadnot did that for a lot of people last year. While Seth McKinney and Jeno James continue to "do a nice job" you'll notice that not a whole lot of running will be going on up the middle, and we'll get inside penetration panicking the **** out of our quarterbacks.

I've read some reports that have said he has struggled during the first couple of days in practice. If so, then this is just a continuation of last year for him. Many of you want to criticize some of the other linemen, but Jeno James was easily the biggest disappointment among the offensive linemen last year. If he continues to struggle, I hope Nick cuts him and gives someone like Damion Cook, who I have read some good things about so far, a chance to start at left guard.

I havent read any reports about this either...... unfortunately I must admit that I gave him the benefit of playing alongside McKinney and McIntosh last year so I figured his play was hurting because of them. Personally, I think he is way overpaid for a LG. However I dont think Damion Cook is an upgrade over Jeno. Also, this is still pretty early in the season so I dont think him struggling now is a big deal if he actually is.

With that said, I dont think Jeno's spot is in stone also. I would like to see Cook, maybe McIntosh, StClair, or even Wade Smith get a fair chance to compete for his spot.

I dont think any lineman's spot is guaranteed. I think McDougle and Hadnot have the best chances of starting on our right side and it looks like McKinney is going to be our center. I think both left side positions are up for grabs. For what we pay Jeno, he better hold down the stinkin fort.
