J. JAMES IN HOSPITAL

Starting left guard Jeno James was airlifted to Broward General Hospital after practice Wednesday night. He was complaining of light-headedness and vomited in the locker room after practice, which ended about 9:40 p.m. James was believed to be suffering from heat-related symptoms and was expected to be kept overnight for observation.

James, 28, was signed by the Dolphins last season as a free agent and started 14 games. He missed two with a knee injury.

-------

A day after being painfully reprimanded by Saban, rookie defensive tackle Manuel Wright had his balky back examined by a doctor and will likely miss some practice time.

Wright has a strained back, which could keep him out for a week or two. He missed the morning practice Wednesday to see Dr. Gary Gieske after complaining of a tight back Tuesday.

Dolphins left guard Jeno James was taken to a local hospital following Wednesday's evening practice with heat-related symptons, according to a league source.

James, 28, complained of light-headedness and was ill but never lost consciousness. At the hospital, his blood pressure and pulse rate were normal.

James is expected to be sidelined for at least one day and make a full recovery.

The Dolphins said they wouldn't have further comment until today.

Update On Dolphins Guard Jeno James
July 28, 2005

"Jeno is stable and doing fine this morning," said Dolphins team physician Dr. Gerald Kuykendall. "All his body functions have returned to normal. He was suffering from gastroenteritis which contributed to his dehydration. He remained in the hospital overnight to have several precautionary tests and his condition will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis."

I would imagine these players suffer heat related problems alot in camp? I would hope it's nothing to be alarmed about, there is nothing worse than losing players in TC.

Gastroenteritis - now that "stuff" will mess you day up big time. KB - got your ears on. Isn't that a rest and fast prescription?

It hasn't been too big a deal in the past few years, but supposedly training camp this year has been hotter than hell at noon.

Back problems on Wright so early in his career ? Thats not a good sign. The need to get him on the spinning with the other behemoths to get his weight down before playing him.He is a project anyway.

Amen, had that once before... messes you up.

Good news is he should be fine though.

Surprisingly, I don't remember that happening much at Dolphin camp. My guess is that in light of the incident in Minny, they were just being extra cautious.

I garuntee the reason Manny Wright is sitting with back problems is because of his not being in good enough shape to go in to camp.

He showed he wasn't in shape in his workout. Have you ever gone all out playing a sport/lifting weights or even just running after you havn't been actively atheltic for a long time? The next day every bone and muscle in your body seems like its on strike.

This kid needs to get his @$$ in shape and stop acting like he's still in southern cal playing a backup role.

Another Phins DT's with back problems.... seems to be a team characteristic the last few years.
