According to PFT, Jermichael Finley just signed a new two year deal with the Packers. He was expected to get the franchise tag if no contract was reached. Now that he has a new deal, I wonder if they place the franchise tag on Matt Flynn.

Not a chance the money they would have to pay him is too high and they can't tag him just to trade him according to the new Cba.

I still do not think they will tag him. Too many pitfalls for the Packers if they do.

whats the terms of finleys contract??? shocked he took only a 2 year deal unless that sucker is loaded with just about all guaranteed money and if thats the case its gonna be hard for the pack to tag flynn...

omg...he took 2 years and $15 mil...give that kid some smelling salts...he took a massive team friendly deal...only thing i can think is he LOVES being a packer and knows in 2 years at 26 he'll be on the market again

If Flynn does get tagged, Tannehill will likely be the guy they add. Assuming he is on the board when the Dolphins pick.

unless the pack knows they have a suitor willing to part with a 1st round pick in trade tagging flynn is very dicey...cause if they don't get what they want they spend $14 mil on a backup qb...rodgers isn't an injury risk or anything so that kind of insurance and risk seems unlikely to me...then again if you acquire flynn in trade maybe for a 2nd rounder or whatever and he has been tagged i'm sure you could loop that guaranteed $14 mil into your long term contract with him guaranteed money wise...so who knows
