Listening to NFL channel on Sirius today when they broke the news that The Raiders might be looking for a new Head Coach, and Jerry Porter was floored and like Im a free-agent and im not re-signing with them if they get another head coach. So the question is this.

Yes Jerry Porter isn't a saint or TO or Moss but he sure the hell is an upgrade to a struggling offense. Would you take a shot at him early in free-agency and look for a wide out later in the draft?

What the consensus on Porter coming to Miami for a reasonable contract?

Joey Porter plays offense too? Wow...what a all around player! haha
just yanking the chain, no offense

But I don't think I would. Being that we'll be a new-ish team we really won't want someone with a mouth and attitude that can screw it up. We need a team, not a player.

Do you mean Jerry Porter the WR?
Thats what i was about to say...lol

i was like when i first read this i was like...dude....Joey Porter is a linebacker, and he is already on our team....then i remembered JERRY porter of the Raiders and i was like,WOW....he should really consider a career in sportscasting...

anyways...no,id rather pick up a WR in the draft than get that scrub....

I think with the careful nature that BP has built up the FO with people he knows and trusts, it's very likely that he will put a premium on players that the coaches can mold into "his" kind of players.

If they bring in vets, it will be because they are still good players and offer good leadership to the younger players. I can't imagine that Oakland has been a happy place for Porter to play much of his career, but he certainly seems to be upset about a lot of things a lot of the time. I don't think he fits into the new culture down here, and they will look elsewhere for WR help.

I think Jerry Porter on one side, Javon Walker on the other with Ginn in the slot would be aight.

As long as he didn't demand a bunch of money I wouldn't be upset with the decision, however I'd like Walker instead.

Jerry Porter is a VERY GOOD 3rd option. He plays his best in the slot vs. Nickels, Safties & LB's. Picking him up would not hurt...I do not see a player getting the chance to make a distraction with Bill around. Unless the player is just the only reason we are winning....

I would not offer more than a 2 year contract. I would try to keep him in the slot. But then again I like 3Wide sets the best...So I would HAVE to move Ginn to the slot for the deep out/in and fly route down the middle.

So overall...

If we get him cool...better be low cost.
If we do not get him...fine with me.

LOL hell guys IM sorry Jerry Porter I was in a rush kids going crazy!!

Remember Keyshawn had a mouth as well and Was very productive for Bill.
If he comes cheap and incentive laced contract I would be interested in him.

Why do so many people want these poor character clowns on our team?

Walker would be a great pick up but Porter, not so much. Hell the Raiders have tried to make him a number one and they can't. Why would he be any better than Miami.

Let's see he had decent running game, shakey oline and no quarter back. Sounds kind of familuar. Plus he comes with an attitude.
