I recall him earlier this year being sent to NFL Europa to play for the Frankfurt Galaxy. I was just curious to see how he was doing, so I went to look up his stats. Maybe some of you already knew this, but Chatman left(Quit?) the Galaxy after camp.

Does anybody know why he left the team? Also, if this is the case, was he at mini camp last week?

Thanks for the link Crypt.... I don't know why he left the team (Galaxy).
I didn't know that until you mentioned it.
But the fact that he did ( unless its a personal issue) and the reports
of him being overweight aren't a good sign.....
 
I may be thinking of someone else, but wasn't he the RB who missed his flight to NFLE and ended up staying here and going to camp here? I can't remember who that was, but I thought it was chatman.
 
Chatman stayed in Miami and was in our minicamps. He is NOT overweight and out of shape. He was 245-250 when he played in San Diego but he now has his weight down in the low 220's on his 5'9" frame.
 
I believe he had problems getting his passport/visa stuff in order. I believe he was not able to go to europe because of it. At least I think I read that...I might have just been drunk though!!!!!
 
Nah, he forgot to gat a passport so he can't leave America. He attended training camp while waiting for passport. Our coach liked what he see in him on first day of camp and told him not to go europe... alas he quits galaxy.
 
Chattman is looking great. Everyone is going to love this guy when they see him in preseason.

He did have Visa problems and never joined the Galaxy so he didn't quit anything. He is doing everything right and he is in great shape.
 
Is this the same Chatman we picked up a year or 2 ago and we released him??

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins RB Jesse Chatman was originally slated to play in NFL Europa this year, but he couldn't obtain a passport in time to travel overseas. He instead reported to this weekend's minicamp, and impressed coaches with his play. He and fellow RB Patrick Cobbs are the only backups behind starting RB Ronnie Brown.

That is impressive since he hasnt had an NFL carry or played in a game since 2004.

....why did he wait the last 3 years to finally impress someone again?

He was traded to New Orleans in 2005, for a conditional draft pick, who then released him.

NFL.com lists him as the Saints having his rights, or on the roster for the last two years but zero stats.......either or.

Thanks for clarifying what happened guys. Sounds like Chatman could be a real sleeper this upcoming season.
