He isn't a starter. We put him in probably his worst position, then got mad at him for failing-- just ridiculous.

He'll land on his feet, but he'd be better off to sign with a good team as a reserve, than with a bad team as a starting Tackle.

Hurns was obvious ... as will be Albert Wilson. Jesse Davis was almost inevitable as the acquisitions of Williams and Armstead need veteran salaries to replace. The young cheap OL will be given a season to prove themselves. These definitely are not the last or biggest names we'll jettison. The culling has not even really begun in earnest yet.

Haven't we promised X to re-do his deal? Don't we have to account for this in our cap also? It's a bit unsettling as we have been financially cap conservative for so long.

Agreed. It's easy to say restructuring Jones saves 9 million. But he won't be here in 3 years mist likely.

Another one is Baker. If the team believes he'll be here in 5-6 years, by all means restructure. If not don't.

I don't have reservations signing a big 3-4 year contract.

sure this is somewhat true.. but as a reserve you still should look competent. the game has passed him by. he does not look like he should be on the field ever.
