Jets beat the Dolphins in getting Pat Elflein

The Jets, at least, have achieved something this year. On Monday, the Jets beat out five other NFL teams on the waiver wire when they picked up former Vikings offensive lineman Pat Elflein, a source tells Field Yates of ESPN.com (on Twitter). The Jaguars, Bears, Dolphins, Ravens, and the Washington Football Team all tried to claim the veteran, but the Jets’ 0-9 record gave them the upper hand.

This may be a clue to what we are thinking about Karras.

Elflein has played as much Center as he has Guard. We may have been thinking replacement.

One more thing...

Elflein, like Karras is a free agent at the end of the year.

If Karras wants too much money, Elflein could be a backup plan.

They'd moved him to Guard last year... and he'd been hurt this year. Free agent at end of year... he just came of i.r.
He's still young and won the Rimington award a few years back. He's an excellent reclamation project.

Keep in mind that this isn't an off the crazy wall suggestion... the Dolphins put in a claim for this guy. They were willing to take a low risk gamble to see what he had.

Maybe... it's nothing... but keep an eye on him.
