I said it over and over and over before the game on the board.. And I detailed all the reasons why.. And I also said The Dolphins will show the millions of people on national TV what a fraud the Jets defense is.

I ran down all the reasons in many posts.. They don't have the DE's and pass rushing OLB's needed to be an elite 3-4 defense.. And they have a lot of problems against the run (they gave up almost 300 rushing yards the two weeks before Monday Night).

The Jets defense is just a little above average. It looks a little better because of their scheme, and the confusion they try to deploy against an offense..

But as far as overall talent, it is not close to last year's version of the Baltimore Ravens defense, or last year's Steelers 3-4 defenses... I said it all along.

Tonight was no surprise to me. I fully expected this to happen tonight.

They don't match up well with our O-line, big blocking TE we have who is 6'8 and 270, Fullback Lousaka Polite blocking like a madman this year... And 2 quick power backs like Brown and Williams.

The jets D was overrated by the media and their fans.. It was very easy to pick up if you really watched and studied their games at every position of their front 7.

What sucks though is Miami clearly has more talented DE's and OLB's, but we have a defensive coordinator who doesn't know how to use them properly.. He's clueless and can't run a defense like Rex Ryan can.. There is a reason why Paul Pasqualoni ran that Syracuse program into the ground..

We only sent 4 people most of the time on Sanchez on passing situations.. STUPID ! You have a rookie QB back there who has shown that he makes mistakes with pressure, and we only send 4 ?? DUMB !

How Sean Mmith wasn't locked on Braylon Edwards all game I will never understand.. You have a tall talented receiver like Edwards and we decide to put the shorter Will Allen and Vontae on him on those big plays ?? You have to stick Smith and tail him on Edwards all game.. We have such a stupid D Coordinator.. But we're not lacking in talent aside from one safety and one ILB.

We are lacking in defensive coaching.
 
The passes Henne completed ... wow. I wonder if Rex could have swallowed his pride (yeah, right) and not blitzed so much but instead played more coverage defense if Henne would have had more trouble completing passes. Glad Rex didn't do that, but I have to wonder.
 
Like I said before the game, you can get them with the screens on those all out blitzes. We have 3 backs who can all catch the ball very well out of the backfield, who can also run well after the catch. Ricky had a very nice screen play for a long gain, and there were other screens that worked.
 
i agree with you, pasqualoni pisses me off so badly at times, we don't disguise any our our blitzes and we bring pressure at alot of the wrong times imo of course. we let sanchez get way to comfortable back there.
 
I am not saying we should sell the house and go for all out blitzes like the Jets do.. But come on, we have all these young talented DE's and 3 talented OLB's who can rush the passer.

At least bring 5 people more often for god's sakes, and be a little more creative with your blitz packages.. This bland vanilla style defense almost cost us like it cost us in the Colts game.

There was no disguising at all even when we went against a rookie QB.. So there is no excuse.. THAT WAS A ROOKIE QB Tonight !!! Not Peyton Manning !

It's ridiculous. If we had a defensive coach like Rex Ryan calling the shots, with him coaching the talent on Miami's defense... Miami is at least 3-2 right now.

Easily.

We need a Nick Saban defensive mind back in Miami again.
 
you did call it man, i'm glad i had faith, now i just wish our dline would dominate like our oline has of late.

The defensive play-calling/scheme is starting to worry me. I'm not ready to throw Pasqualoni completely under the bus, but I doubt he sticks around after this season anyways. The D is not improving, and the talent is mostly there. It is the scheme and proper use of players.
 
If Paul Pasqualoni was the Jets defensive co-ordinator, the Jets defense would be ranked at least 10 spots lower.

I have no doubt in my mind about that.

Jets fans who were acting like this Jets defense was the 1985 Bears or last year's Steelers defense were just foolish... And clueless.

I posted the same thing on how these aren't R.Lewis, E.Reed, Ngata etc... when morons were posting that Ryan shut the wild cat down in Baltimore. I love how the Wildcat is a gimmic and two fake punts is okay and then their offense tried running the wildcat but resulted in a loss of yardage!
 
Greyboy: you also told us how great your D was and how Wake, Porter and Taylor would be all over Sanchez. Football can be a strange game sometimes. It doesn't always go according to plan, our D stunk last night but so did yours. It was a really good offensive football game.

Are D was GREAT through 4 games, we had a bad game. it doesn't erase what we had done up to that point. We'll see if it is a trend in the coming weeks.

Our Special Teams sucked, our defense was up to par for the year unlike your overhyped team. We got too many penalties, dumb Penalties to keep you guys in it. Why W.Allen jams BE 7/8 yards downfield is beyond me.
 
how many sacks does your great d have in five games? a great d doesnt get smashed by a qb starting his second game.
