As it turns out, Westhoff was still under contract with the Jets when he attended the Dolphins’ practice. That’s what coach Tony Sparano recently claimed. “Certainly at the time if I knew he was under contract [with the Jets], I wouldn’t have allowed it,” Sparano said.

“Westhoff attended those practices with the permission of the Dolphins,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told us by e-mail on Friday. “There were no rules violations.”
But, apparently, Sparano didn’t know Westhoff was under contract with the Jets when permission was given. We asked Aiello if that changes anything.

Jets SUCK, end of story.

Wow what the heck was that guy even doing there they're acting like the pats going to other peoples practices

Man people are reaching for stories with this game cause they have exhausted all other stories. ok MEDIA here is a new story for you guys to run

MEDIA LEAVE THE JETS AND DOLPHINS GAME ALONE THE FINAL DAY AND DECIDES THAT THE GAME NEEDS TO BE PLAYED AND DETERMINED ON THE FIELD!!!!!

Eric Mangini-What did you find out for us?
Westoff-We have NO chance

what a d***-head....:shakeno:

Terrible management by the Phins "organization". Whether the intentions were malicious or not, how can you let another teams coach, let alone a coach for a division rival, have access to your practices?

Bonehead move by Parcels and Co.

well, like he said, Sparano didn't know. And im betting Westhoff isn't a very honest person either.

Anyway, what can you honestly get from viewing a practice? "Oh their gonna run this play" or that play or whatever.

Honestly, unless we're secretly planning the most ridiculous offense in the world, i dont think he saw anything he didnt know.

Yea that Westhoff....sneaky old man he is.

I doubt he got any game breaking info from the practices either. I think that's why nobody is making a very big deal out of this.

How boring would that be? Most people here hate anyone who says anything remotely negative against our team. This week's victims include anyone who works for ESPN, ESPN Radio, the NFL Network, and anyone who works in the media who is "biased" against a team coming off a 1-15 season and who doesn't believe that this team has the best receivers and secondary in the league.

If OJ Simpson spoke highly about our team, I bet they'd find a way to think what a wonderful person he is.

Bottom line: Who cares what anyone says/writes/predicts about our team? It's not going to have an impact on the outcome of the game one way or the other. I hope and believe we will win but the Jets deserve to be the favorites going in and therefore, not out of the realm of possibility that they beat us. To say the Jets are "doing anything they can to have a chance" is ridiculous because they have better talent and more experience at head coach. With that said, any team can win on any given Sunday so let's go Dolphins!!!!

even as a jet fan isnt it kinda of weird that out of nowhere he goes back to the jets right before the season starts right after he attends some of our practices, any explanations about that

Westy was/is battling cancer. My understanding is that he received some kind of medical clearance to return to coaching because the cancer was in remission. I think he would have been back a lot sooner if he could have been.

do you know why or have any insight as to why one of your coaches was visiting our team for practices?
